VA Cpap in Connecticut

Post by ken in Sharon » Sat Sep 29, 2012 5:03 pm

Can anyone tell me the name of the CPAP supplier that the VA uses in Connecticut. I have the full-face mask which is totally unusable and my major disability is bad memory so while I know that I visited a place near Bradley (about two hours away) about a year ago I can't remember the name of it or where it is. They told me at that time that if I wanted a different mask I would have to wait a year.

Contact your congressman. The election is imminent.
Remedying the shameful treatment of an old, sick veteran ought to be a good campaign opportunity.

I did everything through my private Doctor. I mentioned it to my VA Doctor and the report was sent to the Cpap/Bipap clinic. I received a Resmed S9 Autoset fully data capable. The clinic see's us once a year unless we need to be seen sooner. They allow us to call and order equipment and it is sent to us. They say that it is less expensive to supply complete FF masks. There is no 6 months restrictions on new masks. If you use a nassle pillow mask, they do supply the pillows. This last visit I mentioned the Aloha mask and they are checking on getting them. They don't just stock one brand of equipment and are open to suggestions
The size of the clinic has increased in the last two years and even includes rooms for sleep studies. The VA has noticed that sleep apnea affects many veterans and are doing everything to help, sparing no expense.
I have a disability and was allowed to become a patient many years ago.
I did notice that they have more than one brand of machine.
