Dizzy Lizzy
Despite pretty good numbers AHI under 2, Vibratory Snores under 5 (usually) no large leaks, leaks within mask limits, I still have dizzy days where my balance seems to be off. Usually these dizzy days occur when I think I've had a decent nights sleep. Just wondering if anyone else experiences this off balance dizziness. Thanks
Life is not about the amount of breaths you take;
It's about the moments that take your breath away.

Dizzy can be many things, your ears affect balance, and I have had problems with XPAP and ears plugging, I've never had anything done about it, it comes and goes. Check you BP often, you may be a quart low, me I'm just a few bricks shy of a wall. Re: Dizzy Lizzy
According to my doctor whom I just asked about this after being dizzy on and off for three days, you don't need to worry about dizziness unless (1) it's bad enough that you actually fall, or (2) it's accompanied by nausea or fainting, or (3) it's completely constant rather than coming and going and lasts any significant time at all, or (4) it comes and goes for more than 5-7 days in a row. You should specifically *not* worry if you only notice it first thing in the morning and/or late at night.
I assume that if it kept coming back over and over, that would also be cause to worry, but occasional dizziness is normal.

Re: Dizzy Lizzy
You can have dizziness problems with sinus issues, or if your neck is tight, too. I have some dizziness issues right now, and I can't figure out what the problem is. I already go to a chiropractor once a month to try to keep my back, shoulders, and neck flexible, but I've been really tense and stressed lately, and it really feels like my neck is the culprit again. Maybe just need a few pops of the old neck!! It's gotten rid of the dizziness before for me; just don't know if that's what it is this time.

I think your doctor's a ditz and I'd definitely press him for a better exam, a second opinion, or more tests.

Are you serious? Your doctor said this? I'd look for a new doctor!tillymarigold wrote:According to my doctor whom I just asked about this after being dizzy on and off for three days, you don't need to worry about dizziness unless (1) it's bad enough that you actually fall, or (2) it's accompanied by nausea or fainting, or (3) it's completely constant rather than coming and going and lasts any significant time at all, or (4) it comes and goes for more than 5-7 days in a row. For me, dizziness is often accompanied by either sinus infection or ear infection. If no infection, then I often have excess fluid behind the ear (which has not become infected - yet).
Tilly, if your doc has thoroughly examined you and can't find any cause, then possibly it's no cause for concern except under the circumstances you mentioned, but generally speaking, dizziness can be a symptom of a problem that needs to be addressed!
I'm no medical expert, just mho.

I don't know your age, but sometimes it's related to peri-menopausal issues.
Have you had blood work done to rule out anemia or elevated blood sugar?
Bottom line: I would not accept such a response from my doctor.

If I had your symptoms, I'd see my doctor. Dizzy cannot be good or normal and there must be a good medical explanation for it and appropriate medical treatment.whatrdreamsmadeof wrote:Despite pretty good numbers AHI under 2, Vibratory Snores under 5 (usually) no large leaks, leaks within mask limits, I still have dizzy days where my balance seems to be off. From what I recall from my time designing medical devices for dizzyness testing, your doctor's advice sounds reasonable.
People sometimes mistake a lightheaded, woozy feeling for dizzyness. In true dizzyness, there's a feeling of the room spinning. For example, when we were kids most of us at one time or another would spin ourselves around and around until we fell over and it felt like the whole world was spinning around us. That was dizzyness. As adults, many of us have occasionally gotten a similar feeling by overindulging in our favorite libation.

Re: Dizzy Lizzy
Extreme dizziness for me is what prompted me to become concerned enough to see many doctors, many tests. Recently, being diagnosed with OSA.
Also, an earlier diagnosis for me of Vertigo, then Meniere's Disease are certainly reason enough for my dizziness as well. And a common problem for you to consider if you continue to have it.
Otherwise:
- Watch your salt intake, limit it as much as possible.
- Also, certain prescription medicines will list dizziness as a possible side effect or worse allergic reaction.
Hope you feel better soon.
