Again, I appreciate everyone's insight.
It seems like an overwhelming number of people are recommending the Activa mask. This is not a full face mask correct? During my tiration study I felt it was going to be difficult keeping my mouth closed when they put on the mask that only went over my nose (But, it was way more comfortable) …
Will I likely need a chin strap for this or if I choose the Pillows route??? (and has anyone tried or know anyone who has used this TOTAL FACE MASK?

Activa mask question?
Yow...the description says noninvasive mask. It sure seems like it could be overwhelming given it covers your whole face. Masks are such a personal thing and truly critical to getting good treatment, especially when you first start. I have Breeze nasal pillows, Activa Nasal and Mirage Ultra full face mask. I've chosen (like many others) to not use the full face mask and work on reducing mouth breathing, leaks, etc. with mouth devices and chinstraps. Best bet is if you can get your Dr/supplier to let you try several different types.

I'm one of those nuts who believes in researching almost to the point of obsessing over a purchase. I drove the local DME's crazy before I found the DME that actually had the equipment I'd read so many good things about. I live in a small city, FWIW.
The point is, in the researching I've found that there is no silver-bullet mask that is good for everyone. I'm a side and back sleeper so the Breeze headgear has worked famously for me. I did have issues with the nose pillows and my DME GAVE ME a nose mask after looking at my swollen nares.
So I'd do the research, buy or get what you believe you need and then see how it works. The good thing is that our host DME carries the latest and greatest at very aggressive pricing.

People don’t care what you know until they know that you care.

If you have an upper denture, be sure to put it in before you put the mask on, and wear it during the night - it should help!

No, the Activa is not full face though all of us keep asking for one. But you can train yourself away from mouth breathing and if you do once in a while but stay conforming on cpap, so what if you do. Keep a glass of water near the bed. The Activa is by far and away again IMHO, sigh, the best mask to start with.
