Look at your mask's literature, it will tell you what Mask Selection to use. IF I remember correctly (too lazy to go look) your Users Manual also has a list of Resmed masks and what Mask Selection to use. The Micro is new enough that it might not be included in your Users Manual.

If you use a non-Resmed mask then the Mask Selection should always be set at Standard. With the Standard mask selection the Resmeds will always subtract .4 L/s or 24 L/M - this is must then be compared to the allowed vent rate for that non-Resmed mask at your set pressure and then do the math to figure your true leak rate. Every mask's literature has a table or chart of the allowed vent rate for that mask at various pressures.

Respironics' EncorePro software is by default set to Erase Data when a download is done, but the software setting can be changed to not erase the data.

The Resmed AutoScan and ResScan on the other hand are set by default NOT to Erase Data when a download is done, but the software setting can be changed to Erase Data.

So, your DME supplier may be dumb enough to Erase Data every time THEY do a download but YOU won't erase any data by doing a download yourself w/a Resmed UNLESS you deliberately set your software to Erase Data.
