Dr Bronners

Post by Lee Lee » Sun Mar 15, 2009 1:05 pm

I just went and bought some Dr. Bronners Peppermint soap, because I've read so many good things about it here. I want to use it to clean my mask.
I was surprised to see it has oils in it (olive, coconut.) It smells wonderful. I'm kind of leery of using it for my Activa seal, because it has to be squeaky clean in order to stick to my face...
Anybody have any words of wisdom?

I'm not sure, but I think the difference is that Dr. Bronner's or Castille soaps have vegetable oils vs. other soaps that have animal fats.

I think that's correct. I just washed my hands with it and not only did it smell yummy, it washed off squeaky clean. I just don't want to ruin my mask!!

I don't think it will ruin the mask, but you might have to clean it again if the oils cause you a problem. With so many forum members using it I'm sure we would have heard if it caused a problem.

I've been using the Bronner's hemp and lavender for some time and have not had any damage to my masks. As with any cleaning product, I rinse of all my equipment with distilled water. I think this has been brought up before,k and there are others using Bronner's.

I bought some once because I couldn't read the entire label in the store. Good stuff...

Lee Lee,

All pure soaps are made out of some sort of oil. In a nutshell, soap is created by the chemical reaction caused by adding lye to "fats"

Dr. Bronner's Castille soap in Peppermint IS THE BEST to use on your mask and the hose--it will leave everything VERY clean and smelling wonderful!! I have been using it since I started CPAP --never had any problems. The mask is always squeeky clean and one bottle will last a really long time. It is sold at Hi Health or GNC stores---it is such great stuff.
