CPAP vs Regular Sleep
CPAP vs Regular Sleep
Just trying to get an opinion. This is my first post by the way. I've been using my CPAP for about 2 weeks and seem to be getting about 3-4 hours of use out of the machine a night. Apparantly I'm waking up and taking it off, without remembering of course.
Anyway, my question is... are the 3-4 hours a night with the CPAP better than 7-8 without it? My assumption based on the way I feel(less tired) that it is better with the 3 hours than without it.
Hopefully I'll be able to adjust to the mask and leave it on for a full night, but until then, I'd like to know if I'm getting any benefit at all

Some is better than none and, hopefully, you will be able to get used to this treatment that CAN SAVE YOUR LIFE (yes, I'm yelling... this is important stuff) and work up to sleeping through the whole night without tossing the mask off.
Stick with it! Make a nightly goal to wear the interface as long as possible. Don't take a nap without it.
Think Nike... just do it.

Buy a new hat, drink a good wine, treat yourself, and someone you love, to a new bauble, live while you are alive... you never know when the mid-town bus is going to have your name written across its front bumper!
Yes. Absolutely. Doutblessly.Anyway, my question is... are the 3-4 hours a night with the CPAP better than 7-8 without it?
And you'll manage more eventually.

As a matter of fact, I would suggest getting up, doing something relaxing till you're tired, and trying to sleep with the mask again.
Sleeping without the cpap is simply not good for you - even though that' the way that seems most natural.

Re: CPAP vs Regular Sleep
I've been hooked up since april, 2005. I get more sleep on 5 hours of sleep now than I ever did. I usually wake up on my own after 6.7-7 hours on the CPAP. Fully rested and feeling great!
