DO NOT BUY FROM CPAP.COM

Let's stop giving this Krystal3001 troll so much air.
It's clear to me there's no logic in the argument, the facts don't support her assertions, and she's just wasting bandwidth.

Welcome to CPAP WORLD. Off to your right you will see a large black hole. That is where you put your money. On your left is a bottomless pit. You can put your money there too.

Re: DO NOT BUY FROM CPAP.COM
I don't have anything bad to say about cpap.com. I ordered a cpap pillow and some wipes from them and service was good with no issues. I must say that I have found significantly (up to 70% lower) lower prices from other vendors for the exact same item. However, I'll hold final judgement until I receive my items to make sure I'm getting the real deal.

Re: DO NOT BUY FROM CPAP.COM
Good prices, good communication, nice people, clear policies on returns.
There is nothing a troll can do to seriously damage CPAP.com reputation on this forum. Especially with that story. Now, if there was a posting that someone received a used mask with gooberstuff on it, that would be far more interesting.

Re: DO NOT BUY FROM CPAP.COM
"Return Insurance" is different than most Internet cpap sites, and a good difference if you're really unsure as to if the mask will fit or not. If it doesn't, you're only out the cost of the insurance instead of out the whole cost of the mask. I have never purchased the insurance because I only buy masks online that I already know will fit, or I buy supplies that I know won't be a problem. (For some masks, the insurance is rather high, for others, it's cheap. From what Johnny says, I think it's based on the return rate on a particular mask. Could be wrong on that, though.)
Like someone else said, go to your DME to try on masks free to find out what fits and what doesn't, and then purchase online. All online cpap providers have a no-return policy. (I can provide links to several if you don't believe me.) Or try a mask through cpapauction.com.
I understand your frustration, as cpap stuff is not cheap. If you bought the insurance, it would be honored. If you didn't buy it, and/or didn't read their return policy, it's your own fault. Period. So, please take some responsibility for your decisions instead of trying to blame everyone else.
I absolutely do not believe that you purchased the insurance and then they wouldn't refund it. If that's true, proof would be nice.
As far as working for them? Wish I did, but, alas, I'm stuck running my own little business sitting at my computer all day long.

Yeah, right.Krystal3001 wrote:Dang, all you guys must work for CPAP.Com. That's the only reason I can understand why you would get so upset. First, off I did buy the insurance and they still will not refund my money. Second, I returned it within 7 days of getting it!!!! You guys really love the company you work for. Thats loyalty. I am proud of you guys. Especially, for the person who's five year can read!!!!!
Anyway, your original post indicated that you did not buy the insurance, so my posts were based on that. I'm sure you wouldn't lie about that, so I'd be interested to know what they are saying about not honoring the insurance. I've used the insurance 3 times without a hitch.
As far as your other inane comments, they take good care of their customers and have earned all of this support.

I'm trying to think of a price tag that it would take to make me a liar. I'm thinking 100 bucks and change isn't it, but for Krystal it looks like the line is there or lower. What a swell person.jnk wrote:Krystal3001 wrote: . . . The return insurance was declined on the mask . . .One of the above statements is wrong. Re: DO NOT BUY FROM CPAP.COM
I don't think they've been hard on her. She's only made three short posts to this forum, so it won't take you long to read them. They're all in this thread. I've looked at products on cpap.com many times. It is extremely clear what their return policy is. For whatever reason, she misunderstood the policy, and she came here to slam cpap.com.polysomnoman wrote: BTW people, don't you think you were kind of harsh on this lady? I think members should atleast TRY to be a little nicer to newbies. Now I will probably be thrown under the bus too. Oh well. Just thought I would share my feelings.
People are often loyal to someone who is doing them a favor at their own expense. cpap.com is doing all of us a favor by providing this forum, free of charge. It doesn't take too many brain cells to figure out that if you come here to trash cpap.com, it is not going to be well-received, whether you have a legitimate gripe or not. In this case, she does not have a legitimate gripe. She made a mistake, but she is flinging her anger poo at cpap.com.
If she came here to slam another vendor or even her DME who had the same exact clearly displayed policy, though, I suspect she would have gotten much the same reception. The problem is not us, the problem is Krystal. She is unreasonable and doesn't take responsibility for her own errors.
And why is it that telling her the truth feels to you like she is being thrown under the bus? There are a few posts that seem a tad nasty, but 3 of those are by Krystal. The rest are pretty reasonable.
Krystal, I suspect you are no longer reading this thread, but I don't remember if anyone has mentioned to you that you can try to sell the mask on cpapauction.com
I don't know how old you are, but you've learned a lesson here. When I was younger, I might have made the mistake you made. Now I would never have made that mistake. I never ever return a product without first understanding or finding out from the company what their response is going to be to a return. I changed my decision making process because of mistakes like the one you made. You'll be a lot happier once you figure out what is under your control and exert control over those things. You can't control return policies of vendors. You can only adapt your own choices to those policies. If you don't like the return policy of a vendor, either don't buy from them, or be willing to bear the risk.
You learned a lesson, and it cost you something. Think of it as tuition for your education.

Re: DO NOT BUY FROM CPAP.COM
From reading the original post it appears that the buyer did not buy the insurance and did not read the page. Anyone I have purchased from online or at a Brick and Mortar store does not take back masks after you wear them. (With the exception of the first mask with my original set-up, I was allowed to switch that one out once). It does state on the page that if you aren't sure it is the right mask for you that you should purchase the insurance.
I never buy the insurance because usually it is about half the cost of the mask and I figure if I end up keeping the mask I have paid way to much. If I don't like it I can probably sell it for at least half my money back so either way I would lose the same amount. Just my odd way of thinking
Anyway, I don't work for cpap.com but wish I did because maybe I could get a big discount on goodies. However, they have always shipped items quickly, for a good price and exactly what I ordered.
I have no complaints. Also this is a CPAP.com board so anyone would have to be a little dim not to realize that people who frequent here must in general be happy with cpap.com. If you aren't, there are other boards to air your grievance where you might get more sympathy.
PS: if you are a newbie to cpap I realize that there is a lot to learn and many expensive lessons you will go through before you find your best set-up. Good luck!

1. She bought a mask
2. The website offered her insurance
3. She thought, "Insurance??? I don't need no stinking insurance!!!"
4. The mask didn't suit her
5. She called cpap.com
6. They said, "sorry".
7. She threatened to smear them
8. They said, "sorry".
9. She posts on here claiming she had no idea about insurance and shared her view that they should take all masks back anyway (I agree, that would be sweet).
10. Others point out that she almost had to have seen the 30 day return insurance.
11. She accuses members who have received excellent service from cpap.com of being employees.
12. She changes her lie to claim that she did have insurance.
13. Hilarity ensues
Anybody that might insinuate that this board isn't nice to newbies hasn't read many threads...

HEY Johnny!!! Where's my paycheck? I've been "working" here for (almost) four years and I'm still waiting.....Krystal3001 wrote:Dang, all you guys must work for CPAP.Com. Let me make this "Krystal" clear. I DON'T work for CPAP.COM. I've never even had any "problems" with my therapy that I've had to post a question about. I do this to TRY to help others who DO ask for it. It's called "paying it forward". And, I've always enjoyed the learning experience here. There's a wealth of information here from people much, much smarter than I am. The educational value of this forum is PRICELESS.
Krystal3001.....Lots of people on this therapy have masks (and other things) that didn't work for them.....it's just a fact of life in this therapy. I happened to pick out the "right" mask for me at the very beginning of my therapy. Over the years, there were a couple of others that I've tried that didn't work out.....I still have them. That was before the insurance was available but I wouldn't have purchased it anyway. I figured I made the choice to get those other masks so now they're MINE. I could still use them in a pinch, but that likelihood is pretty slim. I paid for my experience with them.
If you really want to learn about Sleep Apnea and this therapy......stick around and read. But, bad-mouthing the host won't get you any sympathy here.

Yeah, I'd love to work for a company like that too, and even have tech and customer service skills on the phone...however, relocation is NOT an option...now, if I could work from home..jeff (Who likes to pretend he could work at a nice company like CPAP.com, but I'm sure they are way too smart to dream of letting a guy like me anywhere near their customer-service phones! )
