I would care....what some call personality, I call "caring about the person you are dealing with"...That personality makes it easier to talk with the provider and actually have a discussion about my health care. I have changed providers on many occasions, even if the medical care was very good, because I could not stand the "personality" at the front counter or the doctor's bedside manner. I changed primary care docs a number of years ago due to his office staff's personality (or lack thereof)...If it becomes a fight to get past them, I don't care how good the doctor was, it just wasn't worth it..there are other excellent doctors out there.nobody wrote:Your behavior toward her seems really disrespectful. Not to mention how dumb it seems to go to another provider because you think the nurse, rt, clerk or whatever her title is "lacks personality". Who cares as long as you get the machine you want.
I had an orthopaedist a couple of years ago when I messed my ankle up. He was an excellent doctor, he fixed my ankle up quite nicely. I will not go back to see him again, because getting him to talk to me about the surgery and other care was like pulling teeth. Oh, I received excellent care, but there was no personality...even when I asked questions, I got monotone and minimal responses. But, there are other excellent orthos in the area, and when I go back to get the other ankle fixed, one of them will get my business.
Personality means alot....
