Fisher & Paykel HC220 CPAP
Fisher & Paykel HC220 CPAP
I have a Fisher & Paykel HC220 CPAP machine that a friend gave me. It works fine except, during the middle of the night a noise, more like a vibration comes up from the machine, up the hose, into the mask and right up into the bone in my ear. Like a high pitch wine. Does anyone else have this problem or solution to the problem. I would like to use this unit for camping. It works fine except for this problem. I do alot of camping during the summer and would like to leave it in the camper. One less thing to bring into the camper you know. thanks.
Re: Fisher & Paykel HC220 CPAP
Problem you have here is that so few people have F&P cpaps - I trialled an GC200 HC221LE & HC604 & also pulled apart the HC200 & HC221LE. The blower is a self contained unit & what you are describing sounds a bit like a dry bearing that squeals when it gets hot. But, that is a wild guess.

DSM, Your analysis sounds right on. Now what, can you repair these things? I'm sure it is high dollars to do so! thanks.

Problem is I am in Australia else I'd love to fix your machine. Many years ago I worked for F&P in New Zealand & have a high level of confidence in their gear.hodag wrote:DSM, Your analysis sounds right on. Now what, can you repair these things? I'm sure it is high dollars to do so! thanks.
I knew Gary Paykel who was MD in the 1990s. A great company.
