Love your sense of humor, FollowUpCall. It will stand you in good stead in this forum! Good on you!!!

Tell me, please, have you had more experience w/the Resmed devices or the Respironics devices? Have you had much chance to work w/the new S8 IIs? Do you do many downloads and have lots of experience w/ResScan and EncorePro? Which software do you prefer from an RRT's point of view?

Follow Up Call,

It was not my intent to address you as an individual practitioner, but rather, the concept of compliance as I have witnessed it in my brief time on CPAP. What I take issue with is the system that places highest value on having the person become compliant to a therapy process that does not allow for input from the person regarding HOW WELL the therapy is addressing the person's needs. The concept of compliance as I have experienced it thus far, looks only at how many nights and how many hours per night you use the machine; this seems true in insurance, DMEs and the medical system in general. Rarely, it seems, do users find practitioners who look critically at how well the therapy is working for the individual and looks to the user as a data source in terms of efficacy. Perhaps you do; if so, I applaud you - that attitude sets you apart from the masses. If this is seen to be the case, you will find a welcome audience here and I, for one, look forward to an additional voice of reason and sensibility added to the wealth of knowledge found here. That said, you could do far worse than having many of the sage voices I have found here as your in-service guides - they can give you a unique perspective on what is useful and important in day-to-day xPAP life.
