At MSLT. Interesting.

Post by Debjax » Sat Mar 07, 2009 8:34 am

On the iPhone right now. Excuse any typos. MSLT going ok I guess. Pressure was raised during night from 7 to 9 due to arousals and 4% desats during events. She said I settled down after that but am a very restless sleeper. Told her I've always been a thrasher. First nap was ... Tech asked me if I thought I dreamed. Told her I wasn't sure. Brai. Did some strange firing but felt like I was sort of awake and sort of asleep. She gave a "knowing smile" and slight nod. So don't know. More later.

Are you having fun yet? Had a couple of those myself. Will be interesting to hear how yours turns out.

You mention being a thrasher - do you have limb movement issues? Before I was diagnosed with PLMD I thought I was just a restless sleeper, and thrashing was how I described my restlessness too.

Hopefully the increased pressure will help some if events were still a problem. Keep us posted.

Kathy

PLMD = Periodic Limb Movement Disorder.

Just logged in using the Safari browser on the normal page. Although avatars do, embeddd Images don't download though. Other than that, and one finger typing.....even kept me logged in from session to session.

Ahh, did some research....don't think that is my issue..the movements are not rythmic, just all over the place. Before I had a bed partner, I would fall asleep in the normal position, that of head at head of bed and feet at foot of bed, then wake up at either a 90 or 180 degree rotation....it's not as bad as it used to be, but hubby says he still gets kicked or elbowed on occasion...I'm thinking it had alot to do with my apneas....the tech mentioned that "I settled down" after she bumped the pressure, and the daytime tech, who did my first study, said that I was one that would move around alot when I had the arousals from the events....

Not sure...After the noon nap, she did mention that I fell asleep during that one, but I don't know about the 1st or 2nd naps....she let me go after the 4th nap, didn't keep me for the 5th. Don't know if that's because the other 4 were conclusive for or against, but is was one or the other....I'll find out on Friday at the latest, since the doc will have the study on Monday and hubby has an appt on Friday. If the office calls and wants to see me...well, I'm going to assume the worst at that point....

Could get sticky, if diagnosed, I could lose my driver's license for awhile... ..I live 38 miles from work, with no public transporation available. Hubby works the same place 3 days a week, but I have to drive in one day a week myself....
