Excess Distilled Water...

Post by Linus » Thu Mar 05, 2009 8:29 pm

What do you do with extra warm distilled water in the morning from your humidifiers?

Just curious.

I have been pouring mine into a cup and drinking it when I take my vitamins.

I only pour the excess out once a week...Friday is my cleaning day.

I use tap water and I empty it out every morning. I empty it out rinse it, shake it out and let it air dry. I put it back together and fill it again at night.

I don't use heated humidity, but I just leave the water in the tank and add to it every few days. After some months, I'll dump the remainder after I let the water level get low.

I rarely empty... but I do top off the tank with more distilled water every morning.

I have emptied and dried the tank out twice since September 2008... washing the humidifier and hose once.

I see no ring around the tank, no growth... just nothing. The tank is as clean as the day I purchased the machine.

I see no reason to dump perfectly good distilled water out each morning.

You can always dump it in your tea kettle . . . if you drink tea, that is.

I agree with Paul56------I see no reason to dump perfectly good distilled water out each morning. I only top it off every night. Never take it apart, never clean it. It still looks as clear and clean as when I first got it!!!!

Since I don't remember to check my tank until after I'm all comfortable in bed and just about to put the mask on (and sometimes after)....I just top it off most nights.

I'll dump it out on the weekend when I'm cleaning, and now and then I pop it open to inspect and air dry....

The Dreamer.

I keep distilled water in a pitcher or two in the fridge for downing those pesky pills.... and the latest think is distilled water to mix into my nasal rinse bottle (today is the first time I've tried it).
