Best way to sleep?
I am new and have a full mask. when I roll onto my stomach I can can feel the air pressure escape under my chin. After 3 nights of sleeping on my back. I really need a solution to get back on my stomach and still get the proper therapy. Any suggestions? New mask?

Re: Best way to sleep?
I used to be an avid stomach sleeper pre-cpap, i have a nasal mask (from day 1) i went to the opus 360 and found i could still sleep on my stomach with little difficulty in mask movement or leakage and was quite happy for sometime. However in the last 18 months i have become a back sleeper as i found i get better results ie less leakage, zero mask movement, and my neck and back are in better shape. It took ages to literally retrain myself to do this, I never thought it would happen. I still sleep on my side but i have never reverted back to tummy sleeping. i hope you can get into a comfortable position!

"They" say that side sleeping is the best for you overall... You might try that as a compromise between stomach and back. I used to enjoy sleeping on my stomach as kind of a break from the other positions, but even with the Swift LT or Headrest I still can't pull it off. I don't really miss it...

SnuggleHose - Got the 8 foot and cut it down to 6, used the rest for mask hoses.

That's a nice truck ya got there, autohauler.
If you'd give us a little more information about your machinery, we may be of more help to ye.
Leaking air has a lot of causes, and those have been addressed many times here. But each case is different.
Do you try to sleep in that thing? (the truck, that is)

Re: Best way to sleep?
I don't know of any real stomach sleepers with the cpap mask on but there may be a few. I tend to be a side sleeper with a slant toward stomach sleeping. But I do a lot more back sleeping than I use to and maybe that is because I can now breathe while laying on my back.
What I normally do is start on my side and using a large body pillow I throw one leg over the pillow and turn towards the pillow. That kind of allows my stomach to be tilted towards the mattress . Hard to describe but this is as close as I get to stomach sleeping now.

I'm not anti-social; I'm just not user friendly

Thanks Everyone! I will have to change my sleep pattern to incorporate back sleep patterns. Jay, yes I do sleep in my truck it has all of the comforts of home including kitchen sink.
