Really Good Doctor Follow-Up Visit

I met with my sleep doc this morning and was pleasantly surprised. He said my ResMed print out looked really good. He wished all his patients were as compliant as I had been! He liked the SPO 7500 printouts, felt they were very sophisticated and gave better info than the one that would have been supplied by the DME. Complimented me on being so proactive and said he enjoyed talking with a patient that was intelligently dealing with OSA! WOW. I am impressed!! I hope he meant it. He spent 35 minutes with me.

Anything I did or said, I learned here! Thanks to all of you!

As a side note: I had been concerned about my oxygen levels - he felt that since it was up and down, not a flat desat that I could relax a bit. I'll keep checking, though.

Any doctor who spends half an hour discussing OSA with his patient ...you can bet he meant those compliments!

Wow, you really know hopw to make the rest of us sad!! I don't think a sleep doctor like that exists here!!! Maybe I will have to move to New Jersey (Na. I guess not)!! You lucky person!!!!!

Sue, where in NJ do you live? We're from Ocean County, Toms River area. We weren't too impressed with the specialist my husband saw. He's the pulmonoligist I use for my asthma and he's great for that but was a little too off-handed about cpap therapy. He also spent a lot of time looking over the reports I brought him and praising me for changing his original settings(8-18) on my own. When I told him I was learning everything here, he wrote down this website to recommend to his patients.

I could be off-base here but I thought if your therapy was effective, your o2 would remain above 90% and preferably above 95%.

Gumby - I know. I'm not finished tweeking, but he didn't feel it was too worrisome at this point. Also, recommended Provigil for the short term for the foggy head. We'll see.

Dori - Bergen County. Maybe more docs are listening to their patients these days. That would be a good thing!

You could come to Florida, at least it's still warmish here....my doc is like that....
