Not very Manly, but.........
Not very Manly, but.........
I am contemplating a body pillow to help me stay positioned on my side while I sleep. Not too Manly I know. But I have reached the point that I do not care so much about things like that. Comfort is very important and I am wondering if this body pillow is a good idea. I currently start on my back and then roll to one side then the other........repeatedly during the night. I am hoping this body pillow will keep me in one position.
Guess I will swing by the baby store on the way home and buy one. Since it is right next door to the Home Depot..........I think after I buy the pillow I will run over to the Home Depot and buy a saw, drill or some wood.....Arh, Arh, Arh.

I've read about people sewing a tennis ball into the back of their pajama top...

SnuggleHose - Got the 8 foot and cut it down to 6, used the rest for mask hoses.
Memory Foam Pillow - Cut my own out of my Tempur-pedic pillow. (works great!)

I do not know for certain since I have never done that...........but if was a bettin' man............I'd bet that would tick me off to high heaven when I rolled over on that in the middle of the night. My wife says it is probably better not to poke grumpy critter with sticks (or tennis balls sewn into sleep wear) while they are sleeping.SharkBait wrote:I've read about people sewing a tennis ball into the back of their pajama top...

Re: Not very Manly, but.........
I had a t-shirt with a pocket in the center of the sholder blades which held a tennis ball at night. It was worse than the apena for getting a good-night's sleep!! That was after I had the UPP surgery that failed and had undergone two sleep studies that said I didn't have apena!

Well, get yourself a pillowcase for the body pillow - explaining to the pimply-faced clerk that both your wife and your mistress like that sort of thing. Then go to Home Depot, and in the back where they custom-cut wood - well, just fill that pillowcase with stubs of 2x4s and such scrap.
Course, it won't be as comfy as my body pillow, the one with the pink flannel case with white fluffy clouds on it.....

"Manly" doesn't count. "Staying Alive" counts!
I wear women's panty hose tights on my head.....and Lansenoh nursing mom's nipple cream on my nose....every night.
I have no "shame"......
And I have a three-night string of "0.0" scores running now.....

Hey, there's nothing women find sexier than a man who's willing to take charge of his own health! Except maybe a man who takes charge of his health AND knows his way around Home Depot

I still remember the look on hubby's face after I gave him the tube of Lansenoh to sooth his poor kleenex ravaged nose. He took the but, thanked me and went off to the bathroom mirror. A few seconds later he was out in the kitchen holding the tube with 2 fingers out at arm length...the look on his face was absolute...well, a mix between horror, incredulity, and shock....Gerald wrote:"..and Lansenoh nursing mom's nipple cream on my nose....every night.
apparently I should have mentioned to him the "nursing mothers" label and that he could ignore that.....

Re: Not very Manly, but.........
Now I understand what the "standard use" is for Lansinoh, but it sure would be nice if they'd put some kind of good aroma to it.....At least when you're using it on your nose. As it comes it's pretty chemical (had to apply some)....A little lavender, or citrus or something...... Be that as it may, I use it almost daily!!! Good stuff!!!!Debjax wrote: A few seconds later he was out in the kitchen holding the tube with 2 fingers out at arm length...the look on his face was absolute...well, a mix between horror, incredulity, and shock....
I suppose while they're at it they could put in some flavor too, but I ain't goin' there......
cheers

Wars arise from a failure to understand one another's humanness. Instead of summit meetings, why not have families meet for a picnic and get to know each other while the children play together?

Aw, there is a way to combine the manliness with comfort...
Get a burlap sac from Home Depot and stuff it full of wood shavings/sawdust from your workshop. Voila... body pillow with some heft behind it.

Re: Not very Manly, but.........
I went from two pillows to 5 on cpap - added the cpap pillow, wedge a heavy memory foam one under my side (I hate side sleeping) and put a thin down one over my head so I don't hear the machine. My wife thinks its pretty funny. I think you have to have something or someone if you sleep on your side. And with the damn exhaust from the quattro blasting her in the back of the head, my wife prefers I use the pillow...
