Noisy BiPAP

I have been using a Fisher & Paykel 220 CPAP set at 6# for four years. I recently had another sleep study and the Dr. put me on a Series M II Plus BiPAP set at 14/10. I have no problem tolerating the higher pressure, but it sounds like I am in a wind tunnel every time I inhale. My poor wife has taken to wearing ear plugs so she can get to sleep. Is this due to the higher pressure, the machine, or is something wrong? I also was talked into trying an F&P full face mask, the jury is still out on that one. Before, I was using an Activia nasal mask which I liked, but in the trial it seemed harder to exhale with the nose only mask.

Any help/comments would be appreciated.

P.S. how do I register for the forum?

Could be the higher pressure, could be the machine, could be the mask. If all your connections are good(no leaks), possibly try your old mask for sound comparison. I would think that it's just the normal sounds of the machine.

It's probably the biflex that's causing the noise change. Though I'm not positive that a Bipap Plus would have it or not.

Do you need it/want it? If not then either try turning it down or turning it off.
