Do you use the nasal pillow? Or do you use the nasal mask attachment for the CL2? I also use the CL2 and find that keeping the headgear medium tight and the nasal pillows lightly touching my nose produce the best results. If I have the nasal pillows lightly touching then the little pillows puff out and provide a great seal. At first I thought one of the lab rat solutions might be necessary, such as using a light strap around my head holding the nasal pillows lightly in place, but instead I've found that by having just the right tightness on the headgear and lighter pressure on the nasal pillows works perfectly.
Yes I use both. I really like the nasal pillows, but I get alot of rain out with them. I don't get rain out with the nasal mask, just leaks. If I could find a nasal pillow that didn't have a rainout problem, I'd be a happy person.
Now I like the nasal mask, but the leaks drive me crazy. Without wrapping a strap around my head and it and making it tight, the mask leaks.
Can't win for losing. LOL!!!
I made a little white jacket for my nasal pillows and found it reduced the rainout to a minimum.

Now that the room isn't so cold, I am able to use the pillows without the jacket.

Interesting.
I too had a huge high that first time after about 3 hours on CPAP. I still feel much better in the morning, better rested, sometimes a little sore from sleeping so hard, never have to get up and go to the bathroom anymore, and my head is much clearer, but nothing like that high that I had at the sleep clinic. I think there was a bit of euphoria and adrenaline mixed in as well.

SnuggleHose - Got the 8 foot and cut it down to 6, used the rest for mask hoses.
Memory Foam Pillow - Cut my own out of my Tempur-pedic pillow. (works great!)

Or maybe they injected me with something while I was in stage 4 so I'd be all pro-CPAP and everything...

Since your insurance has lapsed, I would tinker with it . Turn it up a little. It won't kill you but you can tell if it is too much. If you feel like your not getting enough air you probably aren't. I recently has surgery and have been dropping mine, I dropped it to low at first and felt like crap went back up a little and it is much better,Just like a new bed you can tell what helps through trial and error. I am sure someone here can tell you how to unlock your machine.
