Frustrated...

Post by MissAmethyst2U » Sun Jul 31, 2005 11:30 am

Ok, I have been on CPAP(pressure at 9) for about two months now. This seems to have helped me alot and I have noticed the few times I havnt slept with it I feel HORRIBLE but at the same time I am having soo many issues...Ok I use the PB 420s with the comfortcurve...I LOVE my comfortcurve and dont have too many issues with it as far as leaks or anything as long as I wash the cheek pads and the nose thingy everyday it seals just fine for me. I recently started having really bad headaches kinda like a migraine but not where it puts me in the bed and I am having them alomst every other day Doc says they are stress headaches which very well could be. (I am 22 yrs old my bf of a yr and a half ended things with me back in June and well I have gone back to my severe panic and anxiety attacks and a bad bad hole of depression to the point I dont want to get out the bed everyday, I also suffer with a ton of other medical probs, Asthma, Kidney probs, heart probs, occasional low blood sugar, and then got hit with the fact I have precancer of the cervix, the list could go on but you get the idea...Also I have noticed since starting the CPAP I stay very sick to my stomach and always feel bloated and gassy. also my eye sight has changed and I have heard of this but everyone I have heard of says its for the better mine is totally worse I am going to the eye doctor in two weeks...I really do feel better with the CPAP but I still feel very tired and want to sleep all the time and I think right now that is from the depression...Is there anything yall can tell me about any of my 'issues' I am having with the CPAP?? Could the headaches be related or the vision changes? I am sooo confused and frustrated with life...

P.S. I have a doc appt with my sleep doc this coming friday, eye doc appt in two weeks, and I have to call tomm to get the counsulers name that my pcp wants me to go see. She wants me on anxiety/depression meds but after 5 yrs of them before and they not really making a huge difference I opted to try adn stay off them but looks as though I am losing that battle...and please dont feel sorry for me I do know there are ppl 10x worse off out there than me just I am frustrated and trying to get answers...

The eye and headache link is the first one to examine. Don't worry about them until you've seen the optician. Also, if you have recently come off meds, that can have an effect in any number of ways. Don't be too concerned about symptoms until you have been stable off, or on, meds and treatment for a reasonable period of time.

As for the emotional issues, they can be worse than meds!!! They can really mess with your head, your sleep, etc. as you cope with the feelings and the physical reactions your body has to emotional pain.

I'm sorry you're going through so much, you could really do with a break!

As for the bloating, that could be the CPAP - or it could be the food you eat to cope with feeling down! Sometimes we eat stuff that's bad for us because we like the taste, or it gives us a sugar rush or whatever, and then it disagrees with us and upsets out tummy! However, if you are on a good diet, then mention the bloating to your doc. it might be that you should consider APAP which is more kind to those who swallow air.

But my best advice is to take each day at a time, confront the problems one at a time starting with the most important, and if you can, why not talk to God about it? God does answer prayer - and sometimes we sit there suffering simply because we didn't bother to talk to Him about it.

Take care, and keep us posted.
