Help needed for Breeze pillows
Help needed for Breeze pillows
I've been SO proud of myself - after many weeks I've actually spent seven consecutive nights with my mask on.
Yesterday I washed the pillows (as I've done before) with baby shampoo, rinsing well. All seemed normal... til I went to bed. They're leaking like crazy! I've taken them out and put them back in a few times with no improvement. I can feel and hear air leaking all over the place.
Any ideas on what might've gone wrong, or what I can try to fix the problem?
Thanks, as always, for any help.

could be lots of things, but probably some kind of residue or other, either from your own skin (always wash your nose first before using the mask) or from the shampoo - so probably best to wash again and be very careful to give a really good rinse.
It could be the mask moved, have you checked all the joints? Especially the little nut above the nasal unit?
Have you put the pillows back in properly? Check BOTH that they are seated properly inside the nasal unit, AND that they are at the right angle. If you have moved the angle a bit too far around, they won't fit the nostrils so well and may hurt and leak.
For more advise than that you need to talk to more experienced breeze owners as I've only had my breeze a few days!

lol - One of the many times I woke up last night I woke with a start, thinking maybe I'd put the pillows in backward! Unfortunately, they were in the right way.Have you put the pillows back in properly?
I'll wash them again, and check the adjustments on the mask.
I'm so frustrated. Thought I finally had this thing licked.
Thank you, Sir.

If would suspect the angle. I always have to fiddly with it after taking the pillows out.

And now here is my secret, a very simple secret; it is only with the heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye.

Ummm... well, I figured out the problem. In my sleepy haze last night I inserted too much of the pillows into the headgear. (But at least they were in straight!)
I took them out and put them back in CORRECTLY, and tested them.
Perfect. I'm so looking forward to actually sleeping tonight.
Geez, like I need to create MORE problems!
Thanks, everyone.

so tired, I'm with you! On second thought, maybe you don't want to be with me, as I just swipe off the outside of the intact pillows with a damp cloth. No soap at all, so no rinsing. The less handling, the less wear and tear on any masks, nasal pillows, etc., as far as I'm concerned. I think all this stuff can stay clean - and last a lot longer - with less rigorous methods than what the instructions say.
Speaking of instructions....
Breeze's nasal pillows turned wrong? Been there, done that!
Stuck them down too far into the shell? Me too, when I first got a Breeze.

I'm with you, rested gal. I wash my face every night before going to bed, so I know the pillows aren't that dirty. I'm trying to take easy with them, cuz they seem so fragile.
I'm so excited about sleeping tonight - just got my Aussie heated hose hooked up! Now I can turn my humidifier up past '1'!

I have come to the conclusion that the makers of everything cpap just want to make a killing off us. Cleaning included, if you do what they say, they will sell more masks as they will wear out faster. Clean as non invasive as possible and as gently as possible and don't feel the need to take apart and scrub.

Cool. That's the same approach I take to house-cleaning!rock and roll wrote:I have come to the conclusion that the makers of everything cpap just want to make a killing off us.
