To Dry to stay asleep

Post by argon1021 » Sun Feb 22, 2009 7:03 pm

I've used a CPAP for about five years. In the past two years I have not been able to use the CPAP through the night. I will fall asleep quickly. I will awake about two to three hours later with a very dry nose and throat. I use a heated humidifier with the humidity level turned to the maximum. Recently I wrapped the CPAP hose to keep it warm thinking that might provide some relief. I am at a complete loss as to what to do. I would appreciate hearing from anyone with ideas and especially anyone who has remedied a situation like mine.
Thank you

Is the heater working? are you sure? Is the water in the tank hot when you turn it off? Does most of the water evaporate overnight? If I turn mine up past 2/5, my full face mask is soaked in the middle of the night from condensation.

It sounds as though you might be leaking air out of your mouth. What kind of mask are you using? What does your leak line look like?
