Tiny hole on FFM - capped or not?

Post by Jason S. » Sat Feb 21, 2009 1:31 pm

After two months use, I just noticed there is a small hole with a plastic cap in my ComfortGel FFM. The other night the cap came off it. I left it that way. Last three nights the seal has been good so I left it off. Anybody know what the purpose of this hole is, and whether or not it should be capped?

many masks have ports for an O2 line - bet that is the case for this

caps are there for a reason - if you don't have an O2 line, put the cap back on

With the port unsealed the pressure is down and leakage is up. Stands to reason you get a better seal with lower pressure, but are you still getting good therapy with reduced pressure and higher leakage?

My DME pointed out the little ports and said they were for pressure monitoring on some setups.
