Sleep Alone???

Post by Sleepy Boy » Sat Feb 21, 2009 12:40 pm

I have another question, (Im just full of them today) Do you cpaper's sleep alone? Or with your partners? I get restless some nights, and keep Rosy (my wife) awake. I wonder if we'd both sleep better if we slept in seperate beds? Thanks. Larry..

I sleep much better alone. With all the whistling, farting, belching, tossing and turning, I need the whole bed to myself. (Some of those noises are made by my mask )

My husband and I have slept in separate beds for about 15 years now. It is not because of my sleep apnea but because of the fact that I have had Rheumatoid Arthritis for that long and more. The beds are in the same bedroom and he did complain about my snoring before I got on therapy for sleep apnea 6+ years ago! We had already made the adjustment when I was finally diagnosed with sleep apnea.

We both get better sleep since he is a very restless sleeper and wants to have fewer blankets than I do. Even without sleep apnea, neither of us was getting good sleep. He was concerned about moving and causing me pain. One of us would be too cold or too hot to sleep well!!

After all, for sleeping,2 beds is lots healthier for both of us. We only need 1 of the beds for "other activities"!!!!

Some on this forum have mentioned that, after getting on cpap, they can sleep in the same room and/or the same bed as their partner again.

We have been married for 31 years now and the separate beds, for 1/2 of those 31 great years, has made no difference in our relationship!

If anything, we are both more rested since we both sleep more comfortably.

It's me, my husband, and two dogs in the bed. Hubby says I'm fine to sleep with now that I don't snore. It took the dogs a night or two to get used to the mask and hose. Now they climb right up on my face if I don't let them out in the morning. Married 23 years. Dogs on bed 22 1/2 years. Can train the dogs. Can't train the husband.

Kopoloff and Kopolon were sleeping in separate rooms for about 2 years because Kopoloff's snoring kept Kopolon awake. CPAP has brought us back into the same bed.

It's us and one or two dogs. We both have CPAPs and we are "thermically incompatible" according to my husband, but we've come to an understanding so we can sleep together. I don't sleep very well without him now.

We sleep in separate bedrooms across the hall from each other, it works out better for us, but visitors are always welcome. We've been married a LONG time with 2 gorgeous granddaughters in college.

We've been married coming up on 27 years. Due mostly to my snoring, my wife now sleeps in a separate bedroom. Now with the CPAP, the snoring has stopped, but the additional "stuff" remains a complicating factor. I know she wouldn't like the air venting from the mask. I guess we've gotten to the point where a better night's sleep trumps everything else.

As I was reading that I was thinking... "ah ha... Bev must be referring to her husband".

The mask never crossed my mind.
