ten days in......

Post by fkarl » Sat Feb 21, 2009 4:01 am

and still feeling great. I sleep all the way through unless something else wakes me up. But I can go right back to sleep. Not tired all night at work, am actually looking for things to do now..... can't believe how much work I got caught up in just this past week.....

With pointers from this forum I built a hose hanger and hose cover this past week. PVC hanger is working great! The fleece cover my wife and I made also works well. Now have my unit off the floor and am still not getting wet like I was. Sleeping 8 full hours per day now. Don't want to get up when my alarm goes off though.... I'd rather go back to sleep. Oh well. Down to one caffinated drink per day from 5, and I probably don't need that one... but it helps me wake up a bit in the beginning. Anyone else have "sleep hangovers"? After an hour or so I am ok but that first hour I am really slow....

I was supposed to hear back from the prescribing DR. (whom I never got to meet) this week but never did.... I'll call them on Monday. What should I expect at this follow up meeting? What can they tell this early into the experiment? How easy is it to get an additional mask and head gear? I ahve the swift 2 right now and like it but I have to choose which side to have the air fed from. I like the look of the swift LT since it feeds in the middle and would allow me to lay on either side. ANy thoughts???

Feeling really great as a whole. Not losing weight yet but am doing my part. I'll unbury the bowflex this week and start on that too. Still can't believe all the improvements in how I feel. I am not having to get up to the bathroom all the time, I am not tired late in the day, I have more energy to do stuff around the house and at work, my breathing ahs improved vastly and I don't get as winded going up and down stairs or even tying my shoes like I used to. INstead of going to bed a t 8 am and struggling off and on to sleep until about 7pm, I go to bed around 1030 and get up around 7. I read a bit before going to sleep but don't wear my mask when doing so... I just put it on when I am ready to really go to sleep. I usually fall asleep in a couple of minutes.

Still not sleeping on my back but I am waking up in different positions so I must be moving around in my sleep, something I did not do before. I can now sleep a bit on my left side where I couldn't before. I am also dreaming every day. Crazy outlandish stuff like being a motorcycle spy with all these gadgets like Bond or Inspector Gadget..... I'll have to ask the doc about upping the pressure a bit to see if that works for the back thing. MY ALLERGIES have also improved!!! I don't wake up coughing and hacking for a half hour.

Thanks all for being this place we can all go for info. I now look forward to each day and what I can "get" to do, instead of dreading what I'll "have" to do.

Oh my gosh that is such a GREAT post! It is amazing what a difference uninterrupted sleep can make, eh? I really like your description of waking up thinking about what you CAN get done instead of dreading what you HAVE to do. Congratulations!!!
