Swift Lines-Help Needed
Hi, all. Loving my Swift with only one problem. I am waking up with those side line indentations on both cheeks. Tried pantyliners last night (sorry guys ) but it didn't do the trick.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do to the straps so that they won't leave impressions in my cheeks every morning? I love the Swift so much that it won't matter even if I can't fix this, but it would be the ultimate in masks for me if I could.
Thanks for any sugggestions. Have a great weekend, all...

I'm not sure if this will work but you could using gauze pads. I used to go to a dentist that would put gauze pads under the tubing that rested on my cheeks when he gave me Nitrous oxide (I'm terrified of the dentist so Nitrous is the only way I can stand having work done on my teeth). The tubing was ribbed and would leave funny red lines on my face if they didn't use the gauze. If one pad isn't enough, try a few at a time or fold them around the tubing and tape on the outer side of the tube.
Hope it works
Hope it works

Hey, R&R!!! How are you? Good to hear from you.
No, I'm not using the hose in the up position. Actually, it's exactly how they sent it to me, on the right side and in the downward direction.
So far, I've tried (forgive me) pantyliners facing my cheeks and that didn't work. Last night, I used a stick to itself type bandage/brace for wrists and padded the straps just enough to round out the edges so it wouldn't cut into my skin, but the indentations were still there. Then tonight I plan on using thse large square gauze-like pads that will be larger than the straps themselves to see if that might help.
All I can say is, I L-O-V-E the Swift and if it means enduring indentations on my face, then so be it. I haven't slept this well in years. The first two nights were actually nights I slept straight through, without moving the hose and no leaks. Last night, which was the third night, still no leaks but one out of bed trip for the ladies room. But never yet has there been a leak and it is so light and comfortable that I can't believe it's on. It is nothing like the Breeze was on my nose, none of that scrunching discomfort or wobbly headgear that moved the nasal pillows even more out of whack every time I shifted my position. I can lay my face into the pillow on my side and it doesn't cause the mask to leak one bit.
And the best part of all is, since I started using it the day I got my Remstar Auto with Cflex, I have awaked the past two mornings to the pressure at 5 cms. I'm starting to wonder what is going on during the night. I get my Encore software tomorrow and am waiting for this company from Hong Kong to send me my reader, which Tridens already got (took him a week) and he said it worked great. So once I get that all hooked up, I'll see just how well the therapy is going. I know it has to be going great because I'm feeling great. I have more energy now than I've had in years, I'm happy to report. Between the therapy finally going well, the dieting and exercise and all the water I have been drinking, I'm almost afraid to keep saying it, but I feel better than I have in years. My BP is even down to 114/78 tonight without my meds. that I had been taking for it.
So life here is great healthwise except for indentations on my face. I thank you for your suggestion. You are one of the wisest people on this site, along with another one of my favorites we all know and love, RestedGal, and quite a few others who I won't get specific. Don't want to leave anyone else out and make them feel like I don't appreciate all they've done. But the two of you especially gave me so much help in the beginning that I will always hold a special place in my heart for the two of you.
How have you been feeling and how is therapy going for you? I hope all is well. It was good to hear from you again. I haven't seen you do too much posting lately and I was hoping all was well. I guess that means life is hectic and you're keeping busy. Please stay in touch. And if that great head of yours comes up with any other suggestions, I'd love to hear them.
Thanks for writing.
PS: Still using that kayak you got for Father's Day???

No Kayaking, I have been on the run. Went to Scotland, Ireland, Wales and Britain for two weeks, came back for one, was there for the bombings, and then to Las Vegas for a week for a furniture show, am now home for two weeks then off to Mississippi, and North Carolina.
While in Vegas I left my cpap set up in hotel room and left a note on it to please not touch, came back one night and they had actually gotton into my main menue and changed all my settings the smart@$%%#.
Try the attachment up high and the hose going over your ear, it solved all my problems and is more comfortable. They supply a little velcrow ring to do this.
Let me know.

R&R:
Are you on some type of sabatical? Lucky you! How wonderful, getting to see all these places, and non-stop. Sounds like you really could have used the CPAP machine to get some energy back after what you've been doing. Nice of them to mess with the settings...And you were in England for the bombings? I am so glad you are okay. Perfect timing, eh?
Now, you're tellingl me that wearing the hose up will take away the strap lines? I can't figure how, but knowing you, you know I'm going to try this. What does it do, relieve the pressure against the face from the straps? My only worry is that it will pull up on my nose (the barrel) in that position. But, hey, since the gauze pads didn't even help last night and I am plumb out of suggestions, I will give it a shot tonight. Thanks as always for your help.
Enjoy the rest of your summer and your travels. Glad you are well and that you had a great reason for not being on-site here.

No sabbatical, just trying to get my business off the ground. I am a home furnishings broker and the business has gone global.
Tieing up high will get the hose out of your way. It will pull the straps away as well, but it seems to keep them from having to be so tight. Let me know how it works. As with everything else with cpap, what works for me may not work for you.

Good luck with your international business. Had no idea I was talking with such a bigwig in the industry . Did you ever think of expanding online or is that an impossibility? I would love to see what you sell if there is a web site that you have.
I hear what you're saying about pulling the hose up and I am going to try it tonight. Now I can't wait to go to sleep!!! And I know what you're saying and I live by it, that what works for one person may not work for someone else. I learned that with the Breeze. But this Swift? It is my best friend and I can't help but sing its praises to everyone on this site, even though I have to include that caveat about it may not work the same for them as it does for me. I do remember way back your telling me that it might work since it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the Breeze and it light and has basically no adjustments short of the straps and making sure the pillows are the right size. It is just an amazing interface, at least as far as I'm concerned. I don't even mind going to be knowing I won't be up all night adjusting a mask that leaks.
I will let you know tomorrow morning how the strap positioning goes. And you have yourself a RELAXING day for a change, okay???
