The flow generator and ResScan card holds up to 5 days of detailed data, but the ResScan software will only download as much of the detailed data from the card as you tell it to download, up to a maximum of 5 days.

Cheers,

Bill
I tell it to download ALL available data. I understand you are saying it holds 5 days detailed data, but I am only getting 3, no matter what time frame or options I select. Either the newer machines and card only hold 3, or the software only pulls 3...but I am consistenly getting 3 days of detailed data. If you can tell me a way to get it to give me more than 3 days of detailed data, I'm certainly willing to try. I get summary only for any days beyond 3, and I don't see any other way to get it to do more.

That is weird that for all the money we pay for the card reader and software to get only 3 days worth of data? What is up with that? I just got my card reader and my software this week--have not hooked it up yet. Wonder why only 3 days? That is a hassle I think,

Anyone else have more info. on this issue perhaps?

Carrie, my understanding is that these newer Resmeds report more data than the older ones and therefore more memory is required thus fewer days. The data isn't lost if you download and save it in a file in your software. And we're only talking the Detailed data, the Summary data (the averages) are retained for 180 or more days.

Some of us have discussed why these manufacturers don't get w/the program and use flash drives - but they would, OF COURSE, devise a way to have a proprietary flash drive and THAT would keep the price way up there. I remember what I paid for my son's first 1 gig flash drive as a birthday present!!!! Now I can buy an 8 gig flash drive for 1/2 of what I paid for that 1 gig.

Hi Slinky----good point!! LOL! those flash drive have REALLY come down in price--just like the first VCR was costly and now you can buy them for 20 bucks!! BLU RAY players are the norm now and they were pretty pricey too --LOL!

Would you please try this.....
  • Do not select the All available data radio button

    Do this instead.....

    1. Select the "Selected Data" radio button

    2. Tick the "Selected detailed data session(s)" box

    3. Select "5" in the "most recent detailed data session(s)" drop down box

    4. Click "OK"

    5. Click "Start Download"

    6. If prompted, pick "Overwrite"
Observe how many detailed data sessions are downloaded and report here on what you saw.

Cheers,

Bill

Bill, is there a reason you suggest not to select "all available data." I select all available data, then download, then overwrite.....it just adds the data to be downloaded........doesn't change anything else!!!! The only thing I've noticed is if I want 5 days I need to copy to card before noon on the 5th day or I'll lose the detailed data for day one of the five days since my last download.......just took one lost day's data to learn not to do that!!!!

Slinky - I meant QUICK START in ResScan 3.5 - not smartstart on the flow generator.

Does the manual say the card only holds 3 day's detailed data? My S8II definitely holds 5 days.

Will do, BillBolton, as soon as I get my VPAP Auto back. The Resmed Rep was at the local apnea support group tonight and will be at my DME supplier's tommorrow and the RT and I have already made arrangements for me to bring my VPAP Auto in whilst the Resmed Rep is there.

He says he can make the proper settings to get rid of that "puff" at the end of inhalation, beginning of exhalation. AND he tried to explain to me WHY I'm getting this flat pressure line w/no pressure fluctuation in the graphs. IPAP 11, EPAP 6, Pressure Support 5. Half of five (the difference between 11 and 6) is 2.5. Resmeds can't do .1 increments, had to be .2 increments, so 2.4; and 6 and 2.4 is 8.4 and that is why the straight line 8.4 on the graph.

Except, BEFORE the little darlings played w/my VPAP Auto I DID have fluctuations in the pressure line graphs. He didn't say as he had other members of the group wanting to talk to him so I didn't get to ask either - could it be the Leak rate under control now?

Anyway, as mentioned, I've been erasing data as we made setting changes so only have one night's data on it and don't know what will transpire tomorrow.

BigK! Read the manual? You want me to read the manual? You expect me to read the manual??? Actually, I do. But I confess I do tend to skim thru it and just truly read what seems to pertain to an issue I'm interested in or am having trouble with and ..... hey, its a lotta information to absorb!

The manual says:
... The ResScan Data Card can be used to:
Adjust therapy settings, when used in conjunction with ResScan.
Store up to 180 sessions of summarized data, which is displayed in ResScan as Summary Graphs and Statistics. (Summary Data includes usage, including total hours, hours/day, non-used days, and % days used; pressure; leak; and AHI, AI, HI and percentage of time spent in apnea.)
Store up to 2 sessions of detailed data, which is displayed in ResScan as Detailed Graphs. (Detailed Data includes pressure, leak and events.) ...

Is that the VPAP manual or the Elite/AutosetII one?

That is the Resmed VPAP Auto Clinicians Manual. Not the VPAP Auto 25 released in July of 2008 but the VPAP Auto released in January 2008.
