I use the simplicity mask. I've had some iritation on the outside of my nose. past discussions say to use moleskin on the bridge of your nose if it gets irritated. I've used other things like plastic first aid tape, which does help, but last week I finally found some moleskin, works fantastic (Dr. Schol (SP?) makes it). Cutting a little piece, it's reusable. I've been using my first piece so far 5 days. I'm trying to see how long it will take.

The bottom of my nose at the nasal holes is a bit irritated to. Very dry, doctor suggested just slathering it with a good moisturizer. A good face cream is Dormer 211. Most pharmacies cell it over the counter, it's quite expensive for a smale tube. ($11 CAD here).

Hope this helps
Lynne

Lynne,

Others recommend (and I use) Ayr gel, or even KY Jelly, to help the soreness around the nares. And when things get really irritated there, you can also use Neosporin to help heal. I actually got blisters from trying to get used to the Breeze, which I no longer use or have anymore. Didn't work for me. I lived on Neosporin for about two days to heal the blisters. But all of the above are a lot less than $11 a tube and seem to do the trick.

About the mole skin, when I was using my Activa, I used to use the mole skin at the top of my forehead for irritation from the pads and in places under the triangular mask part to keep it from leaking. My only problem with the mole skin is ripping it off in the morning. But it does do the trick for a lot of problems. It's just six of one, half a dozen of the other when it comes to helping with the irritation/pressure sores you can get from a mask because it causes its own irritation taking it off in the AM. I guess the reason I love the Swift: No leaks, no mole skin, no pressure sores anywhere.

Thanks for your suggestion about the cream your doctor recommended. Must be really good stuff. Just make sure it won't ruin your mask if it comes in contact with the rubbery parts. Some chemicals, even antibacterial soaps, have been said to do that.

Lori:

I definately will let you know what I decide. I'm still waiting right now for them to call and schedule a day to deliver the new machine. I am going to see if they carry the Swift, I really want to try that.

Lynne: Thanks for the additional info. I've started using a Nasal Saline spray and things seems a bit better. I remembered having dry nose last winter and the ENT recommended me using that, so I thought I'd try.

Have a great day.

Connie.....
