Results from first sleep study reveal severe sleep apnea during REM sleep, mild sleep apnea in the beginning phases of sleep. I have scheduled a titration study for August 8. Tell me again guys what I should insist on from the very beginning. I want auto or bi pap right? I have a feeling I will get whatever I ask for I just don't know what to ask for. (Though I will get the specific numbers from the original study. Interesting to note is the MD told me the best "cure" for my apnea is to lose weight. He made that priority number one and xpap priority number two. Yeh, I am working on it

barbyann,
If they prescribe a Bilevel, that is what you likely should get, otherwise ask for the REMstar auto w/c-flex. If you all also planning on losing weight to decrease your need for 'pap therapy your pressure requirements will likely change over time. The auto-pap will be able to adjust your pressure as required as your needs change. Keep in mind that an auto machine can also be run as a fixed pressure machine if you or your Doc so desire.
Good Luck!
