card reader stopped being recognized by encorepro

Hi guys a little help here would be nice. I've been using my encore pro and smart card reader for almost 2 years now. For the past week, the Encore Pro gives me a window Smart card reader not detected. I reinstalled the smart card program and found in my device manager a branch which said smart card reader and offshoot Mako 3500. No Joy. Anyone have this problem?
