Comfort Curve Question

I've been "playing" with a comfort curve mask and would like to know if anybody else finds the cheek pads uncomfortable. I think my face must be too fat because the cheek pads push in on my upper jaw. I was really hoping to wear this tonight but am wondering if it will just become more uncomfortable OR will I get used to it. I know my headgear is the old version...this is a loner mask from my DME. If I decide to keep it, I'll get the new headgear. Has anybody else had this problem? Also, can somebody tell me how to use the search function so I can see if this topic has already been covered.

Amy, Click on link below ......my wife uses make up sponges. Myself i just use the cheek pads that come with it. I did not like the cheek pads at first but they do not bother me now. Either I have got use to it or the CC has stretch out some. try to get the new headgear if possible to me it makes a big difference on leaks.......good luck let us know how you like it

I just tried the new foam cheek pads Respironics released for the ComfortCurve and found no major difference between them and the standard silicon cheekpads. They are a tiny bit more breathable against my sensitive cheek skin, so I am not as redfaced in the morning, but I still stand by the mods you'll find in the links Rested Gal provided.

My favorite remains replacing the cheekpads with self-adhesive mole foam (sold in the foot care department - get foam not skin, it's thicker). Cut it a bit bigger than the pad support and stick it right onto the thing. Yeah, it'll accumulate a bit of lint and fur, etc... on the sticky edge that hangs over, but the soft suede-like side is a wonder against the face, and the adhesive keeps it from moving around like some other options I tried. Since I'm religious about washing my face before bed, I can usually use it for several weeks before replacing. And it peels right off, no problems with adhesive residue on the pad support. Mole foam breathes well against my skin, and it is thick enough to pad properly while being thin enough to let me get a good seal despite my bone structure.
