I guess you are referring to me, since I'm around 930 posts. However it took rather more than 4 weeks to say that much.

I think my best typing speed was up around 85wpm ... only once. Usually I'm somewhat slower at 65wpm or less.

My wife is the one who should teach typing with speeds well above 120wpm!

I wonder what our anonymous guest thought was a waste of time? Maybe he/she thinks this thread is a waste of time? It certainly is an older thread now since I started it before beginning treatment, and I've been on APAP for over 2 months now.

The humidifer reservoir slides it so easy it is child's play.

Having used both a RemStar and the 420e, the RemStar was quieter, I think I got a noisy 420e, but it does seem to be settling down. I think where some of the noise is coming from is the seal to the humidifier tank. The tank which is most definitely disasseblable (word??) for cleaning. And as Bill noted easier to get in and out. I think I am going to try putting something to seal that joint to see if the noise is cut down. I think I am also going to get the heated hose, to see if that will cut the noise down.

Another think I noticed, and this might sound strange, but the Swift mask itself seems to be quieter on the 420e than the RemStar. Maybe the air coming out of the humidifier on the has less turbulence on the 420e???

As far as other things, the 420e has a lit screen nice, but the buttons, well, you have to feel for them, where as the RS has lit buttons but not the screen. The humidifier is automatic on the RS, but, at least I could not find a way to set the level. Where the humidifier on the 420e can get left on, and does, it has a wide range of settings and seems to do a slightly better job.

And of course the biggest thing, does the 420e have the ability to pause. It would be really nice to be able to pause a session. Thus if you need to go to the washroom or let the dog out you don't wind up with two sessions for a nights sleep.

Again, I am rambling.

cheers,
Tom
