Question about UPS

I really appreciate this forum, I’m learning a lot. I’ve been reading the posts about battery back-ups, but I haven’t seen my question come up. I live at over 9,00 ft. in elevation, and due to a minor sleep apnea caused heart problem, I use oxygen at night with CPAP from an oxygen concentrator at 2 lpm I know my humidifier can’t be plugged into an UPS, but can I plug my concentrator AND CPAP into the same UPS? It’s nice to impress/ surprise my husband with the knowledge I gather here. By the way, I just love my new M series RemStar Pro with C-flex. It makes breathing effortless.

There are a couple of issues here. I too have an o2 concentrator and a UPS. While the UPS may get you through the
night running the CPAP the O2 concentrator would drain the battery in a very few minutes. I am not overly concerned
about doing without the concentrator for a day or so you might ask your DR. about this. You could always get a backup
tank of O2 in case of a power outage. I don't trust my UPS to run my CPAP for more than 8 hours so I also have a battery
backup .... besides it's kind of hard to sleep with the UPS going BEEP BEEP BEEP.

Based on your equipment, you have the M series integrated humidifier. Unless you are running a separate humidifer, I believe the CPAP and Humidifer run off the same plug, right? I'm not sure how you would plug the CPAP into the UPA and the humidifier into something else.

The design purpose of UPS systems is to provide short term power (less than an hour) during which time either another power source kicks in or you have time to do an orderly shutdown of the equipment connected to the UPS. Using a UPS to provide long term power can only lead to premature failure of the unit.

To accurately answer your question as to whether the UPS can successfully power both your CPAP and concentrator for a short period of time you would need to know:

-Power consumption of your CPAP unit at your pressure setting.
-Power consumption of the concentrator.
-Capacity of your particular UPS unit.

I would suggest looking into a battery setup for all night power rather than a UPS.
