You've got the waveform chart in the software, and, at least in Silverlining, they have a cross / pointer that lets you pinpoint an event by clicking on it, and the you can see it's exact time (shown at the bottom of the screen), and a vertical line gets drawn through everything that happened with it: other events (central or obstructive). snores, runs, leaks, pressure, etc. If you put the horizontal line on the leak chart you get the exact leak at that moment, and if you put it on the pressure, the exact pressure.

I don't have the Sandman so maybe the device is not there any longer. Still, I would be very surprised if they dropped that pointing device from the waveform screen.

Unfortunately it looks like they did drop it. I haven't been able to find any way to do that - although of course I could be missing something!

Silvelining creates 3 file on export: A session file, a 24 hour file, and a 96 hour file. What does the Sandman export?

With Sandman I don't think there's the limitation of 96 hours. For the waveform report I can select however many days I want by clicking the days at the top of the waveform screen. Although each day can become as small as a very thin slice, it can show patterns. For example, I can clearly seen when I turned IFL off. My pressure variations dropped dramatically. I haven't had a chance to look closely at the export data -- there's a button to do the export. I'll let you know when I've had time to play with it a bit more.

Thanks, mindy. Have you tried (of course you have, but I have to ask...) simply clicking, or right clicking on an event? Or maybe even alt+click?

I also remember, from Anne's screen shots that there's was another "wave form" screen - any chances the data is there?

And about the export: I've just remembered: Those three detailed files that I mentioned are exported from the wavefrom (SL3 Details) screen, with a special button. That's not main screen export.

Thanks for the reminder, O - I hadn't tried alt+ or ctrl+ -- but unfortunately they didn't do anything. There is an export button on each screen but they all export exactly the same data. I suspect that this is not yet a complete software package although what is there is very good.

From what I can tell that OTHER waveform screen is available only when you hook a cable straight to the machine.

Hmmm - that sounds unusual to me ... software doesn't usually care about how it gets its data....

I've checked the Therapy software manual & the program v1.2 & I can't get the Waveform diagrams to export either. It also isn't an option in the Tools>Print Options of forms to pick and choose from to be printed. It seems like the PrintScrn function and then paste into a program like Photoshop is the only way I've found so far to get a printable copy, & Ctrl+P won't work in the program either. I don't have a Sandman cable to try it with.

But I did notice in the software manual, that when using the cable, you do get somewhat different screens for Set Ups than you do via the software or direct in the machine. For example, on page 48, for set up cable of APAP/ I noticed that it has a "Titration Enable" check box, that I haven't seen elsewhere. Anyone know what that might be, Titration Enable? So, maybe the cable access does allow for other report options too? It doesn't seem to say in the software manual though.

Also, is there any value in the Clinicians Manual for the Sandman Auto? A forum member kindly told me how to access the machine's clinician's mode by simultaneously pressing and holding the 2 arrow buttons just below the LCD when the unit is On (not blowing), so I can change my settings, but seeing the cable menus made me wonder if there is more that I could do or learn from any extra info in the Clinician's manual that isn't elsewhere? I bought my Sandman Auto from CPAPAuction and it didn't come with any manuals but I found a PDF of the patient manual online. I emailed Puritan Bennett on Thursday, asking about getting a copy of the clinican's manual but they won't sell me one or let me download one, it's for "clinician's only", (to be said in a scary voice). If anyone has a PDF of the Clinician manual, I'd appreciate getting a copy, or if you know where I can get a paper copy, then I'll scan it and make a PDF version for others.

I MUST stay off my back to reduce OSA & snoring. I use a small backpack of solid styrofoam to keep me on my side (tennis balls too small), & use DIY customized soft foam pillow to keep my head in a side sleeping position to eliminate most OSA.

You aren't missing much not having the clinicians manual.

I am now in my Hotel room in SD...

I brought the Intellipap Auto to use this week instead of the Sandman Auto and hope I am not sorry. I used it last night with a 10.6 AHI but haven't looked at the report. It is most likely a lot of HI showing up because it usually does show a lot of them for me. The reason being that once I finally took a look at the Sandman travel bag I came to the conclusion that it is the cheapest junky bag I have seen yet. So I took a good look at the Intellipap bag again and all I can say is I really like it the best out of all of them and it sure is small and holds everything I need. My only issue at all with it is that it shows black in the pictures online and it is actually grey. The good thing is that no names are plastered on it anywhere except the zipper pulls. It sure was easy to get through security compared to the old M-series Auto with the goofy permanently attached power cord and brick.

Note: Some of the best manuals I have seen out of the four machines are the Intellipap manuals, very well written!

So sorry I didn't take the Sandman. Here is a report from the Intellipap while I was out of town. This is the typical report I get from it with no or very little AI and super high HI and MAXED pressure. It just doesn't work for my "ODD" breathing pattern I guess. I finally threw it into CPAP mode to get through the week. Yes the leak got a little too high the last couple of hours.

Thanks for posting that, Browser. I had been wondering how the Sandman and Intellipap would compare. I liked the Respironics M-Series APAP except with my breathing pattern I had to run it in CPAP mode. With Sandman's various settings, I am able to use it in APAP mode without running into problems. I think I'll stick with the Sandman
