Congrats Kira

And as someone who grew up with the Canadian Rockies in the distance... you'll love it.

Heh! I already love mountains! And I loved the visits in 2004. Family brought me from Colorado to N'Awlins, and then I went and married a design engineer for a shipyard. Odd lack of shipyards in Alberta, so....!

I'm looking forward to the triumphant tour!

Indeed! Every negative test gets me closer to my goal... about the only time being negative about something is positive!

Thanks for the good thoughts! They do help! It will be a grand celebration. Mebbe I'll commission some fancy Pad-a-cheek covers for mask and hose!

I'll just add this to this thread....

I've mentioned several times having had surgery for endometrial cancer on 7 April 2008. I have to have labs every four months until the oncologist tells me it can be every six months.

Got my results for the September 2009 labs -- NEGATIVE!

Only three years and six months until I can be declared cancer-free... and take the dream vacation Harry and I have been thinking of through the Canadian Rockies... on the Rocky Mountaineer. (As referenced earlier in this thread.)

I always breathe a sign of relief when the tests come back negative... one more milestone on the path.

Yeah -- funny thing, my docs kind of raised their eyebrows over my diet and vitamin regimen... but I healed better than they expected, and I hope to see things continue that way!

I held my breath a bit as I opened this renewed thread - congrats on the good report. It sounds like you are looking forward to that trip soooo much. Hey, if it's feasible maybe you could go ahead and take that trip. Then you'd have a good excuse for another one when the 5 years is up! Hey, for what you've been thru, get what you can out of it. How about a little something special on every annual anniversary? But I guess after what you've experienced, every day looks special, and with the right attitude, the every day little things are all celebratory. Congrats again.
Kathy

Kiralynx, you are ticking them off one by one.

I have a feeling that they will continue to be positively negative. When I get these feelings, I am usually correct in the end.

My mother is a 22-plus year survivor of breast cancer. She was fortunate to have a leader in the field as her doctor. He palpated her cancer, which did not show on her mammogram. Even way back then, she did not need any chemo or radiation after her mastectomy, having caught it early.

She, and those of us who love her, have celebrated every milestone possible. (If anyone cares to

We all have to do what is the best for our own celebrating, don't we? That trip is getting closer and closer to a reality!
