Ready for Encore Pro Software but Need Help

Post by SleepyJoeMS » Mon Feb 02, 2009 2:13 pm

I think I've finally got a PC platform I can run the Encore Pro Software on for my Respironics Smart Card (our four iMACs and my wife are reeling with a PC in the household, but they'll have to get used to it)

I see on the Respironics site they're up to version 1.8. Is that the version I should obtain? It seems on one of the cpap supply sites they had version 1.0. That sound fairly old if they're up to 1.8. My xPAP set up is listed below.

Here's my platform. I know I'll need the card reader too. I'd appreciate any feedback as to whether what I have will work, and/or what I need to make it work. Got the PC for $150.00 and can take it back to the source for a refund if it's a no go...

2.6 GHz Celeron processor
1 GB RAM
40 GB hard drive
Window XP Professional operating system
17 inch color CRT
CD Rom read only drive

That's it. I got some info a couple months ago from this site about encore pro (thanks to all of you too), but now I'm ready to go, I hope. So thanks for any input and suggestions

Joe

Encore Viewer is version 1.0; Encore Pro (no longer sold) is up to 1.8

With a m series machine, if you obtain Encore Pro, you need at least 1.6. Since you are running XP, you shouldn't have to get 1.8. If you had an Aflex APAP you need 1.8 but you have a bipap auto m series according to your profile.

There are many threads about the difference and where to find Viewer for the cheapest price.

Sounds like a fairly smallish, slow PC system but if EncoreViewer is all you're going to run on it I think you'll be ok. EncorePro might be ok, though since it uses SQL Server runtime, it might be a bit slower. Which version of EncorePro depends on the machine rather than the PC operating system. I have an M-Series Aflex and need 1.8

Yes, you'll need the card reader and it must be the one specific brand and model.
