S8 Escape Mods / Hacks / Tweaks

Hello everyone!

First off, let me offer my thanks to everyone on this board, as it has been VERY helpful in starting my OSA treatment .

Last week, I received an S8 Escape, and it seems to be working very well for me; nonetheless I feel the need to tinker with it. [the various mask mods on this site are inspiring, BTW]

Does anyone have any good ideas or resources regarding mods or hacks of the machine, such as:
-upgrading the intake port and air filter
-firmware improvements/upgrades
-on/off switch installation

I'd love to hear any ideas and I promise to post pics of any mods I actually get working.

These things are designed that way for a reason. The "Escape" model is not data-capable.....just a basic blower.

I have to go with Den on that - the machines is too basic to do anything to.

Also since the S7 Elite to S7 Spirit software upgrade days, Resmed no longer offers software upgrades
& as best as I can tell, never offered upgrades of any sort for the S8s & Vpaps (I have gone looking but
never found any such upgrades). The reason for this could well be FDA approval issues. The manufacturer
reall has to get FDA approval before software upgrades can be released.

Sorry to dampen your welcome enthusiasm - other than what we have said, the Escape is a neat machine.
I owned one & obtained 2 for friends (in the distant past).

Fit an in-line "table lamp" type switch like this....

Installing a Lamp Cord Switch

.... or maybe this....

On/Off, Push Button Floor Switch

.... in the removeable power cable!

I don't think it will do e-mail or playstation 3 games well, it's processor is to slow. Jim
