You people are wonderful!!! I want to thank everybody who gave me encouragement the past few days. It was just what I needed to continue this battle. I have a much more positive outlook on this problem and will continue to try and find the perfect machine and mask. Thanks to you, I am much better (grammar???) educated on OSA and the treatment options that go along with it. I'm pretty disappointed that my Dr. didn't provide me with the information that you all have. I'm so glad I stumbled onto this site. Thank you all!!!!

I agree what a great resource place this is.

One of its absolute great strengths for me is the supportive and friendly nature of the posts here - then there is RG - and the great humour that many exhibit & share.

Cheers

I couldn't agree more. No one should start xpap therapy without a visit here.
I have also learned more from these post than my Dr and RT combined.
Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!!

AMY........WELL.............

AMY:

well i guess i got "guested again" in the previous message! if you are still looking for the best machine and mask etc. read all the advice from everyone on this site and you will be able to form a good opinion of what to look for! for what it's worth i have been on cpap therapy for 11 yrs at 18cm H2O fixed pressure. early in july i got the remstar auto w/c-flex and heated humidifier. made a world of difference in my therapy and comfort. as for the mask, of the many, many i have used, the best i have found is the SWIFT nasal pillows. i am pretty much a nose breather and this mask suits me fine. have been using the mask since january and it has proved to be very easy to use, comes with 3 sizes of pillows, have had no problems with leaks etc. i am a back and side sleeper and have had no problems with this interface! i use an anti-ache type pillow which is thicker on top than on the bottom and this also helps with the masks etc. if you read the other posts on this site you will see other types of pillows being used which you might consider. for me this combination of mask and auto machine is the very best i have found to date!
hope this info helps you if you are still looking!

best to you,
