Review of dental appliance to stop mouth leaks

People who ordered the dental device, please post your experiences when you try it out.
I am curious if your experience will be as positive as mine. If not then it could help others that are considering it.
I honestly did not think it would work anywhere as good as it has. This simple little device has exceeded every expectation I had. This mouth leaking problem has plauged my cpap therapy for almost two years and I was just sick and tired of the tape across my mouth bit. I hope most if not all of you find it helps too. As I said, I believe they will refund your purchase.
I am now looking at getting a second device as a backup because I dread having to use tape again and have no idea where else I can get a replacement that works as well. That's called dependency, I know.
So, please post your experiences good or bad. My next project, now that I finally got the tape problem resolved, is to buy a c-flex cpap, not auto. This cpap therapy requires spending now and then but it is well worth it.

Well I too am waiting to hear from Dr Sue.
I emailed him asking about the procedure to buy another as a spare and if I had to start over with making a new impression, etc. Have not heard from him. I am hoping he keeps the impressions to make new duplicates when re-ordering.
Hope nothing happened to him. Maybe he's on vacation? I just don't like the idea of losing my device on a business trip or ?

I got an email from Dr Sue regarding my inquiry to getting a second device as a backup.
He wrote that he was in the hills of Oregon meditating for three weeks. He also mentioned that a lot of orders were there when he returned. Gee and I though the man was out having a fun vacation. I could see a couple of days meditating but three weeks!
The bad news is that while he said he keeps impressions for one month, it still costs $80, no shipping. I don't get it but I like the device and it has taken me off tape so I shouldn't complain.
For me there is no financial incentive to get the backup one now as it will just about cost the same. The only reason to order now is to use my existing impression, he calls it a stone?, which seems to fit me so well and tight. What if a future impression I submit is not as good a fit?
When you guys get yours, please post your results.

Okay, Kermit, I'm sold. For the price of a lower cost interface, which we wouldn't think about shelling out for, this can make your current nasal pillows or nasal interface work. Sounds like a plan to me. And when you mentioned no blowfish cheeks, I have been puffing out air lately that causes me to mouth leak, so that sounds like it would eliminate that completely. What a dream.
One question for you is, does it cause you to produce more saliva than normal? When I tried the DIY mouth guard, I took it out before falling asleep because I found it increased my saliva production, maybe because I had something in my mouth, I don't know, so badly that since my lips were caused to remain parted and I'm a side sleeper...well, I'll spare everyone the details. But the DIY wouldn't work for me for that reason. I was just wondering if this device would do that. Do your lips remain parted, too, with Dr. Sue's?

I don't know if it makes you produce more saliva than usual. It seems that the top surface of my tongue is dry yet the tip and just under it is wet enough to maybe form a slight vacuum that might help keep tongue in place. Because the shelf and guard are all one piece it tends to hold the "vacuum" as no air can enter and break the vacuum. I could be wrong but it feels that way to me.
One night I felt excess saliva in my mouth. Might have been due to the fact that you can't swallow as easily with tongue against roof of mouth. Don't think that has been a problem since. What I do know is the I used to air leak the most sleeping on my side even while awake. Now that's the most leak proof method of sleeping a the tongue is kept in place instead of falling off center. On my back, I have noticed slight leakage for a short period of time now and then, none on my side.
I like this device so much I deciced to order a spare before Dr Sue throws my original stone cast away and I gamble on making another device with a new impression that might not be as good as the first one I made. Just being cautious.
You can wait till you hear from some of the others that ordered and see what they have to say. The device design is the same what differs is our mouth's architecture and that will determine how well it works for each user.

Okay. Just jumped on the order train and ordered mine tonight. I am wondering if maybe I should have ordered the one for heavy snorers. But I have mild apnea and very low AHI's so maybe this could be a fix? If not, I will settle for a comfortable and effective way to stop mouth breathing and puffs. Am I asking for a miracle? May-Be???

Did you ever get your dremmel and trim yours? I wrote to Dr. Sue about a bit of inflammation I have in the back gums behind where the device stops every morning. He said if it continued, I may need to trim mine, too. But it doesn't bother me enough to play with the device and risk ruining it.
Did you get a chance to do anything to yours yet? Been waiting to hear when/if you did. Let me know, please...
