Hmmm. I'll add that to my list -- I have to wait another 3 months to ask for another - does the LT have sizes like the standard Activa?? Like large or standard??
Thanks for the suggestion!!! I do like the Activa!!!

Edit: Took a look at the resmed site for the Activa LT. Now. I gotta ask you. Why can't the same company use the same sizes in the "same" mask??? Now I'll have to contact them and ask if size Medium in the LT is an equivalent or close equivalent to a "standard".....
Sheesh guys, would it be too much to ask for a little consistency???

Good luck
Hey Patrick,

Where did you go the last four months?

Regards,
Went away for awhile.
No I had a problem with my computer, and I got so disgusted I about threw it out the window. I got rid of IE7 and started using Fire Fox as my web browser and finally, was able to log back in to cpaptalk.com . I have also gotten more involved with our RV group and my Ham Radio.
I will be around.

Sorry for the delay - was out of town a couple days...apparently the Standard in Activa is a Medium in Activa LT (see article at http://www.cpap-supply.com/Articles.asp?ID=172)

Well, never say never....

Hubby who cannot stand anything in (or on) his nose, has decided to go with the Swift LT for Her, although he will be using a full face mask for a few nights until he gets his sinuses cleared up. He also got a Resmed S8 Elite II, with the 4i humidifier, pressure of 8. I'm jealous, his machine is SOOOOOO quiet. I didn't think it was on when I went to bed, and was going get after him for wearing his mask without the machine on. Got over by his machine, saw the lights on, and leaned over REAL close to the machine....heard the faintest of air moving....

Last night was his first night, he didn't make it all night, but had an upset stomach (not from the CPAP)....but when he had it on, he was the most relaxed in sleep I've ever seen him...and was in the deepest sleep.

We also had a great visit with the sleep doc yesterday, he spent about an hour with us going over OSA, the mechanics of it, and how it affects health and how it is going to benefit my husband. He has this power point presentation he goes through, I wish I could get my hands on it. He told him that since he is not a "sleepy patient" that he might not actually notice any difference but that his heart definitely would. He goes back next Friday to check progress. He checked my stuff, and told me that I am doing pretty good, with an AHI of about 1 (he was only looking at 2 weeks, time with the cold). I told him my readings before that were showing about .6 - .9. I go back in 6 months, unless I notice problems with the treatment or start getting tired during the day.

Next thing he'll surprise you with is nasal pillows I can wholeheartedly recommend the AEIOMed Headrest!!!

It's great that he's comfortable with the mask!!!! And it sounds like it won't take him that long to get used to the whole apparatus, so that's all good!!!!
It also sounds like you have a winner of a doc!! Too bad they're not all that interested in educating patients, but I guess if they were, we wouldn't be here.....

dcryandc - thanks for the link info....interesting stuff. I may just try the LT next time around.

cheers

I was going to say something like... "Don't be too quick to dismiss the idea of a nasal pillow mask", but it appears not needed now. I use a Swift, Swift II, and soon a Swift LT. Keep this in mind..

When the pillows fit "right" ... they don't go IN YOUR NOSE. If they're going in your nose, you should go up a size. They should just rest gently OUTSIDE at the opening.
