Babs... it's been there for awhile... originally it had 1.6 on it, but was changed to 1.8

Encore Viewer does not allow me to same my data to my own machine. This is unacceptable -- and a violation of my rights, since it denies me a copy of my own medical records.
Really? You can't save the data? What do you mean? To your computer? Can anyone confirm this?

Thanks!

Jim

I've heard that you can save it as pdf... but not in any other format.

With Encore Viewer, I save it to my computer in PDF form using a free PDF program. I use PrimoPDF but there are several.

Once I have it on my computer, I can change the format if I want using an editing program and can make graphs with a graph program or Excel.

If you use an add-on PDF creator program such a Primo, you can same the data as a PDF. But Viewer as it comes out of the box does not allow this.

Well at the least, Respironics made available a program for the end user to see the data which is more than any other company has done. Can we just thank them for that instead of complaining that they didn't do enough? Remember, they could just pull it if people start complaining.

Any program allows you to print to a PDF file; if the ability to print is there then PDF is available. And no special program is required for that.

I beg to differ with you. With most programs (all the ones I've ever used), when you go to print something, you either use the default printer or you need to select a different printer (from those installed in the "Printers and Faxes" group). In order to print to a .pdf file, you need a printer option installed in your "Printers and Faxes" that was installed by a program such as Primo or CutePDF (the one I use) that will format the output into a .pdf formatted file.

No. Not unless you have a PDF printer installed on your machine. Wulfman said it better.

Well, let's see...

Mind Manager 6 installs a PDF driver and allows printing to a PDF, as does MS Word, Excel, and most of the rest of the MS Office bunch, along with my Canon MP 830 Printer itself, eDraw Max, SnagIt. I have at least a dozen and a half applications on my desktop computer that have the native ability to print to/save as PDF files. And it is the rare machine nowadays that doesn’t have any that installed a PDF driver. And if a PDF driver is installed, then any app can use it, with a little tweaking.

As you said, the programs and drivers have to be "installed". I have MS Office 2003 and looked through it to find any "native" ability to save or print a document in .pdf format.....and couldn't find any way, without going to another program source.
The Primo and CutePDF are representative examples of the "dozen and a half applications" you have on YOUR desktop.

I think I'll not comment anymore on the PDF issue. It's just turning into a ti-for-tat thing and isn't addressing the CPAP issues that are on-topic. Sorry if I steered us off-course a bit!
