ResScan Detailed Graphs Question

Post by alexcue » Wed Jan 21, 2009 11:40 am

OK, i'm trying to figure this out. On the Pressure graph, what is the difference between the Average Pressure line (blue) and the Therapy Pressure line (red)? Just doesn't make sense to me.

Huh, interesting view, but when you are having an "event", I thought EPR automatically disabled itself?

What about the little number above the red bar on the Apnea? is that the number of Apnea events at that time? or is it seconds?

Why don't they give a better explanation?

Respironics in my opinion gives better detailed graphs and info ultimately.

I guess one key to the person's theory may be the whole average-vs-95-percentile thing, along with EPR.

The number above the red bar is how many seconds the "apnea" lasted.

The software appears to be designed for the needs of clinicians rather than the needs of patients.

You'll get no argument from me on how non-user-friendly the ResScan software is, but I figure that as long as I have a way to get a pressure timeline, a leak timeline, and and an event timeline, I have most of what I need.

well they should consider "dumb" clinicians too

jnk, thanks for the help in understanding this. All things considered the time spent in Apnea, in my case, is negligible compared to all the damage i must have been doing all those year before.

Glad to try to help. Sorry I don't know more. This forum isn't perfect, but it is the best way I know to help one another figure out what we can. Hopefully we don't all mislead one another too much along the way.

If I had to summarize what I think I know about PAP therapy at this point (six months in), I would say I've learned eight things: (1) Get a data-capable machine. (2) Find a mask that works for you. (3) Prevent mouth leak and keep mask leak within reason. (4) Practice good sleep hygiene. (5) Keep your AI low. (6) Tweak for low AHI. (7) Be patient on getting results, but (8) be willing to get vocal both in this forum and with your doc if you aren't feeling results.

That's the recipe I am following, anyway, for attempting to undo the years of damage from OSA as best I can in my case.

Hope it goes well for you.
