New to ResMed AutoSet II need help with settings.

Post by chriscummings83 » Sat Jan 17, 2009 2:28 pm

Not used to the Resmed Software. I have a couple Questions. I have been using M-series A/Flex

1. Can you not use Ramp on Auto mode (Min Pressure 9 and Max 11) But Use Ramp to Fall Asleep?

2. The only data on the screen is AHI, AI, HI. Where is the others?

3. What is maxsettling and what does it do?

4. What is Smart Data?

5. What is Auto Appear?

ChrisCummings, PM me w/your e-mail addy and I will send you a pdf of the Clinicians Manual for the Resmed S8 II AutoSet and all your questions will be answered in that manual plus.

Minimum Pressure 9 and Maximum Pressure 11 is a pretty narrow range. Why even bother w/Auto mode? Putting it in CPAP mode and setting Pressure at 11 and Ramp at 2 should do just as well.

Take a good look at your Efficacy Data menu again. The rest of the data is there. Left button to Enter, Right button to Exit, Up button to return to previous screen, Down button to proceed to the next screen.

Listen to Slinky. She knows what she's saying.
To get to the efficacy menu:
Hold the rt and down arrows down simultaneously to get to the Clinician menu.
After getting to the Clinician menu:
1. Settings -> hit down arrow.
2. Results -> hit enter key.
3. Efficacy -> then hit enter. From there, the up and down arrows will take you to the info.

When you get your copy of the Clinical Guide read it from cover to cover... it explains what you are asking. I don't play with mine anymore now that I have it "dialed in"... I just wear the thing... it does its thing for me... and I wake up happy.

I must not have the clinical Guide you have, Mine is about 30 pages, but only 6-9 pages are in english. No explanation about what the menu's mean.

Saw this after posting my "newby questions," but don't feel much further ahead - IS there a clinician's manual around?

Ramp for Auto Mode is called settling
2. The only data on the screen is AHI, AI, HI. Where is the others?
In the clinical menu, under SmartData make sure you set mask fit, pressure, usage and auto-appear to ON. Then when reviewing the results you will be able to scroll through

Additionally, in any screen where you see day.. in the bottom left hand corner, pressing the left button will scroll through the values for week, month, 6 months and year.
3. What is maxsettling and what does it do?
It's the maximum settling time a patient can select each night.
4. What is Smart Data?
It's the readings I describe in question 2 above.
5. What is Auto Appear?
I'm pretty sure if autoappear is on it shows you every night a star rating of your mask fit the previous night.

Chris - Slinky offered to send you the Ckinical Manual - did you PM her your email address?

Sorry, granddaughter's annual Winter Wonderland dinner and ball last night put on by the school's stage band. Dinner and dancing and forget about apnea and xPAP for awhile.

ChrisCummings - I lied. I do NOT have the S8 II AutoSet's Clinician's manual in pdf. I was sure I did but it is one I don't have.

BigK, you have it in pdf, don't you? I'll PM you my e-mail addy if you could please send me one so I don't get caught making promises I can't keep again!!! And, I'm sure Chris will appreciate your e-mailing him one as well. I'll include his e-mail addy w/mine in my PM to you.
