Scalp Itch

Thought I would post something that may help someone else down the road possibly.

I have been using the same Mirage Active mask for almost two years now. I have been washing the rig with Ivory hand soap twice a week religiously ever since. About 3 weeks ago I began experiencing a terrible itching around the back of my head where the straps ride. I tried everything to include adding listerine to head and shoulders for both the strap and my head but nothing seemed to work. I finally ordered a new Activa strap and within three days the itching was gone. There is no indication of wear on the old strap, although it was slighly larger from stretching. Talking with the supplier I was informed that the manufacturer advises changing out the mask and strap every six months. That is not the most ideal plan for me as my mask is out of pocket. I will change them out now at least annually after this episode. My only theory is that the interior material of the old strap must be breaking down and irritating my scalp.
