Encore Pro Can't Run Report

Encore Pro Can't Run Report

I have Encore Pro and it has always worked fine.

But now after I download my data from the card and try to create a full report, I get an error message from the "Data Dynamics ActiveReports" which says "can't instantiate control. control is not registered"
"CLSID=xxxxxxxx 'bunch if numbers' and "Name=carthourscompliance".

WHAT ? It's mumbo jumbo to me.

Anyone have any ideas what I need to do to correct this ? Do I have to try to reinstall Encore Pro ?

What version of EP?

what version EP?

What OS and SP?

What was the exact number error that was reported?

Hi .... sorry it took so long to get the info.....

I am using Encore Pro V. 1.5.82.

Operating sys = Win XP "Pro" w/ SP3.

Tim,

From all the reports here, the SP3 is the problem. I don't know if it works to re-install the Encore software on top of SP3, but I've read that it should work to un-install SP3. Go to the Add/Remove Software in your Control Panel and remove it. (or live with it not working)

same xpap or a new one?

if you got a m series you need to update the EP or get encore viewer

otherwise listen to gumby and wulfman - they know the puter stuff

If you ran a "registry cleaner", that could affect it, too......
It also might help to know the CLSID number.

When in doubt.....use Google, too.

I'm using the same XPAP as always.

But I have run some reg cleaners..... but can't remember if it was near the same time or not.....

Try running a chkdsk from the Command Prompt

Type in chkdsk C: /f <press Enter>
select "Y" <Enter>
reboot
try Encore again - write down the exact error message
