Sounds like you take quite a bit of care to have your cpap environment very clean Goofproof!

So, I don't have to clean my nasal pillows every day?

I often forget to do it in the morning....and, there'll be some evening after work where I don't think to check. Well, a few days ago, I had forgotten to do it in the morning....but remembered at work, so left myself a message to do it when I got home. But, I was really tired that evening...so it was still wet when I decided to crash early.

It is pretty dusty in my place, though not as dusty as some places I've lived in the past. Though it seems okay in the bedroom (probably because I have a HEPA aircleaner running all the time in there, though I didn't for the first year that I lived here....none of them made it with me when I moved here. Plus I got the aircleaner more because I didn't want to smell my neighbors....)

Hmmm, probably time to wash the filter on my CPAP for the first time....

The Dreamer.

I clean in morning and leave on my nightstand but by the time I go to bed it is dusty, etc. I don't want to clean all over again, as than it will be wet. If I put in container it would need to have holes for air to get in??? Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks.
I hang the headgear and main mask over the plant hook that is the support for my hose hanger. The cushion comes out of my mask, gets cleaned in the morning with the Citrus II cleaner and dries on a lint free towl by my bathroom sink until I get home from work, then the mask is put together, rehung on the hook (or more often, left laying on my pillow) and the humidifier filled in prep for bedtime later.

I use the Citrus 11 cloths every day on my mask pillow. I wash the whole mask once a week in Ivory dishwashing liquid (original).

Thanks to a suggestion from Carbonman, I cut the Citrus 11 cloth in half (it's so big for one mask cushion!).

If I feel that there has been a lot of dust and dirt in the bedroom on any given day for whatever reason I will use a 1/2 Citrus 11 again just before bedtime, since they dry so quickly.

I lightly wash the mask and cushion daily with a little baby shampoo, rinse well until cushion "squeaks", leave on night table covered with paper towel. Glad to see most of us have some sort of routine.

Hi --I got myself an over the door metal hanger with multiple hooks on it. Placed it inside of my linnen closet in the master bathroom. I hang the hose there to dry out every morning and wash my nasal pillows maybe twice a week--hang it there too. That way my cats won't eat my mask or hose while I am at work!!!!

I'm sorry that you received such a rude answer. You asked about something that obviously concerns you. I once lived in a tiny town that was literally in the middle of a cotton field. There were times that when the wind blew, we would have to vacuum the bedspread before folding it back for the night. I know about dust and dirt.

You've been given several good suggestions. Unless you really have an unusual amount of dirt and dust floating around in your home, a casual cleaning is probably enough. I also use the Citrus II wipes, storing one in a baggy and reusing it for a few days. My mask is wiped every morning because I use facial skin moisturizer which damages the cushion. I let the mask just hang on my hose hook when not in use. Every few weeks, I wash it along with my hose and water tank because I get the smell of PurSleep in the equipment. My DME asked me just to wipe the cushion with a tissue except for the occasional total washing with liquid Ivory.

O.K. Being male, it take the simple route. When I get up in the AM, I unhook the hose from the machine (I do not use a hose routing system) and proceed to the master bathroom. The hose gets hung over one of the towel racks in the master bathroom. It's kinda hid by the towels there but only my wife and I have to look at it. The mask gets hung on a hook on the back of the master bathroom door. Pajamas also go on a hook on the bathroom door. At night, reverse the order.

This weekend I bought a plastic container to keep my machine and mask it. I pull it out at night and keep the machine in the container while I use it. In the mornings I put my mask in the container and slide under the bed. I also put the top on the container. I let my hose hang over the bed post unless I am expecting company. Then I will put it away in the container. I didn't think about needing ventilation for storage purposes. I do not wash my mask and hose every day. This is a job reserved for Saturdays.

I can't imagine putting on my mask without having washed the nasal pillows! The thought makes me a little queasy. I assume they do grow bacteria at some point.

I have the Hybrid, I take out the pillows and mouth cushion and wash them in Dawn, then I rinse the whole thing, shake the water out and hang it from a hook in the bathroom.

What I used to do (as someone else mentioned) is lay the stuff on a towel in a drawer thats cracked open.

I have 5 cats and 5 dogs and have pet hair everywhere but I still dont need it shoved down my lungs. I also clean my filters weekly.

I wash mine in the morning and hang it over the bedroom door, with the mask behind the door - it keeps it from getting dusty and the hose can drip dry.

Works great for me.

This sounds alot like me. I'll just give you my routine. Hang hose on bedpost disconnected from APAP, to let dry. Remove nasal pillow from mask and wash by hand in sink with warm water and a mild soap. Wipe mask with Citrus II wipes every day except for the once a week hand wash i give the headgear (and hose).
Then i just hang around the bedpost and allow to dry till the night. The pillow is usually placed on a hanky and allowed to air dry.

If i cover any of my gear it generally just will not dry so it's gotta be left out in the open. No choice, personally.

I let my nasal pillows relax during the day when I am working, since they work hard at night when I am sleeping. I let them snuggle on top of the Resmed beside my bed and they seem very comfortable there. Every week or so I give them a thorough cleansing with the cheapest alcohol free wipes on sale in the supermarket. And every 6 months or they leave the ranks of active duty apnea troops and are eligible for reserve duty.
I wonder if someone whose mask gets so dusty in one day needs to install an air purifier in the bedroom..... dust is very bad for us OSA sufferers, and even worse for the many who also have asthma.

(I'm a newbie) And I know someone will find this funny:
When I came home a couple of weeks ago all eagar to start my CPAP treatment, I was told to wash my mask daily so, took it apart (I mean it only has three components), washed it and I'll be darned if I could figure out how to get it back together!!! I actually had to get in the car, drive to the place I got it from and have the guy stick it back together for me! I knew I was bad at assembly but this took the cake!

Most of us don't take them apart, they can be fragile, I just change the parts when they need to be changed. Jim
