Has anyone heard from -SWS lately?

Folks, I'm worried, too. -SWS hasn't posted in the forum since 12/21. I've been telling myself that he and his wife probably just took a holiday trip, but this morning I went back through and reread my last note from him. He and I had been having a PM discussion, and on 12/24, he wished me a Merry Christmas and said he'd resume the discussion "in a couple/few days," and that tells me he and his wife weren't planning to be away for any significant amount of time. That's the last I've heard from him. On 12/27, I sent him an email and a PM.... I've received no email reply, and the PM hasn't been opened. Even when his TN is bothering him, he at least opens his mail.

Has anyone heard from -SWS since 12/24?

These responses are NOT what I wanted to hear! Now you guys have got ME worried about -SWS as well. I've missed his posts but assumed as did others that he just took an extended holidays trip somewhere. *sigh*

Long story short is that I still haven't managed to shake that same infection I came down with shortly after Thanksgiving. I'm going to try to slip into the doctor's schedule again---either today or tomorrow---to see if he can figure out what's going wrong.

My best guess is that trigeminal neuralgia (TN) flareups have been impairing my autoimmune response. While this hasn't been the worse TN season I've had, the pain will still trash sleep. Last night I had about two-and-a-half hours sleep. Run ragged because of TN, for a few weeks running, and the body's just going to have a hard time fighting off infection.

Anyway, my energy levels have been way down, to say the least. My apologies to everyone for falling so miserably behind with communications. I look forward to posting some more once I get caught up with work.


p.s. Right after Thanksgiving my wife and I ate at a local restaurant where the waitress looked just as lethargic and clammy as I did a couple days later. If you ever see that in a restaurant, I highly recommend just getting up and walking away. Live and learn---sometimes the hard way.

Whew! -SWS!!! Thanks for dropping in and bringing us up to date. Dang! Sure am sorry to hear the TN is making you so miserable and lousing up your sleep so bad! Bummer. Goshes, I think SAG misses you. He was just saying he missed the "discussions" and made a couple of posts to try to get one going - but no bites. He misses SnoreDog. I sure hope that you lick this set-back SOOOOONEST! Meanwhile, take care of yourself!

Glad to hear from you - yup I was a tad concerned too but was expecting you were holidaying. Snoredog's surprising loss has cast a bit of a pall over cpaptalk & I am sure it has spooked a lot of us.

At best we can continue all wish you a speedier recovery and hope we can get some great debates going again as the year unfolds.

Hmmmm..... -SWS shows up an hour and a half after this thread is started. Gee, wish I'd started it a week ago. Bev and I aged a year during that time, and we need to keep our girlish looks. Seriously, I'm so sorry you're having such a tough time, -SWS, but I'm soooooo glad to hear that's "all" it is. (Not minimizing what you're going through... you understand.) You were and are missed!! Take good care of yourself... we're all looking forward to your complete recovery.

I figured the TN was flaring up and you were just taking a break after the hectic holidays. So sorry to hear the infection is still causing problems on top of it all. Hope you get some relief soon!

P.S. I've heard that a daily dose of CHOCOLATE is a great remedy for just about anything!!

And I'd like to recommend my grandmother's tried-but-true recipe for any kind of illness, but especially a respiratory one....

Grandma Edna's Hot Lemonade

Step 1. Put the juice of a fresh-squeezed lemon, including pulp, in a 16-oz mug (a large lemon translates to 4 tablespoons, which is 2 ounces, or 1/4 cup).

Step 2. Add 8 ounces of close-to-boiling water.

Step 3. Add sugar until it tastes really good.

Step 4. Add 4 ounces of Seagram's VO (Grandma Edna was raised on the US side of the St. Lawrence Seaway and spent a lot of time with French Canadians... HAD to be Canadian whiskey).

Step 5. Skip steps 1 through 3, if desired.

Step 6. Drink it all down.

Step 7. Repeat all prior steps frequently.

Seriously, she did give that to us whenever we were sick, minus the VO, and I absolutely loved it. A true comfort food, but also a healing drink.

Shucks, my momma's recipe was the same - 'cept she used honey instead of sugar. And she wasn't fussy about the VO either. Heck, even Yukon Jack or Guggenheimer would do!

A little Crown Royal or Jack Daniels would be good for me (Though I did stop drinking for the most part a few years ago). I would have to forgo the sweetener in the lemon though (but mine would be honey) - - I like it tart!!!! I'm just a sour kinda guy....
Hmmm. It does sound rather good though and the lemons are mostly ripe on the tree -- rangpur limes too (even better)....
