BTW, just because it is old is no reason to stop responding - the topic may come up in a search, and someone may have a question that is relevant to the topic. There are so many topics on this forum, with a lot of overlap, it is kinda tough to go through them all to see if you can find that one nugget of gold that you were looking for!

Very informative post. I have been suffering with horrible bloating and severe pain and no one including my sleep rep seems to have any answers. This may help me on the right track.

Yes, this is great information. I know I don't swallow air, it simply pushes its way into my stomach.

I am still trying to get the sleep doctor to prescribe an Auto BiPAP for me. I'd love to have OldLincoln's notes on my side. I talked to the PA at my last visit and she said she was going to try to get me the APAP, but when the doctor's office did the followup call after receiving my card data, the woman who called just said, "Your data looks great, keep using the machine!" So I asked her what happened to getting me an APAP? Apparently the sleep doctor read my data without talking to the PA. So the woman who called is going to talk to the PA. Hopefully it will get all straightened out.

I had told the PA that the aerophagia seemed totally related to sleep position. I get more problems sleeping on my right side than my left. My GERD used to be worse when lying in that position as well. I can't spend my life sleeping on just my left side, for one thing I'm starting to have problems with the headgear irritating my left ear from trying to sleep that way all night.

I'm lucky in that the aerophagia doesn't seem to be building up and cramping me up anymore, but it is still annoying. It is better now that they lowered the pressure, but it is not gone. I need an APAP.

Like has anyone ever had a doctor inform you as much as OldLincoln?
