Is this model a Remstar "Pro" or a "Plus"? PROBLEM RESOLVED

Post by ycartf » Mon Dec 29, 2008 7:34 pm

The below quotes are from posts in this thread - viewtopic/t35369/Help-wfull-face-432-am ... mouth.html
GREGLYE wrote:They did a sleep study, diagnosed him with SA and gave him a Respironics M-Series 1022334 CPAP and a Fisher & Paykel 432 full face mask.
I am confused and perhaps some of you could help me. I am looking for an advanced data machine and have seen a couple with the same model number she gives above (1022334). But some people are saying it is a Remstar "Plus" and some a Remstar "Pro." The post below even says it is an "Auto" or APAP. Could someone pretty-please clarify this for me? Should differing machines share this same model number? I want to make sure I get the right thing, but this discrepancy is confusing on auction sites and local offerings. Thanks so much for any help. Tracy

I went in and added his machine to the sig line. Here, I thought I was given the REALLY good info off the bottom instead of the top! His machine is a REMstar Auto M Series with C-Flex (whatever the heck THAT is!! ) Does that help? This is the first machine we've ever seen, so we don't even know where it rates on the "Really Cheap-Really HiTech" scale. The lady at the VA said that they just started giving these out and that they were really great. I think it's highly unlikely she'd say anything else! LOL!

a pro tank has a card but no meaningful data - a plus tank has no card and no data - you want the pro 2 tank as a minimum -- I can get that number 1021345

if it is a tank and not auto, you want Pro 2 whether it is bipap pro 2 or just plain pro 2

hmm - the pro 2 number at cpap.com does not match with mine in hand - mine is a lincare model - not sure if that is the difference

Thanks very much for your help Jules, and I know I will be able to use that info in determining what I get.

But - what about the model #1022334 that I referenced in my initial post? Is it a Plus or a Pro - or can it be either? I have seen instances of it being called both (in here and other locations on the web) and I have found a couple of pretty good deals on the "1022334."

Thanks so much, Tracy

The best "Model" designation to go by for the M Series is the chart at the bottom of this website from Respironics.

http://encore.respironics.com/type.aspx

Den
(5) REMstar Autos w/C-Flex & (6) REMstar Pro 2 CPAPs w/C-Flex - Pressure Setting = 14 cm.
"Passover" Humidification - ResMed Ultra Mirage FF - Encore Pro w/Card Reader & MyEncore software - Chiroflow pillow

the tanks have numbers - the m series m's

I read the number and assumed it was a tank - that is actually a humidifier - found that at the mayo site

Yeah I just figured out that here too. I called the folks here in town who are selling a "used one night" Remstar model 1022334 for $200 obo and asked if that was the model number from the humidifier or the CPAP that disconnects from the humidifier. Sure enough, once they figured out how to disconnect the humidifier and looked, the CPAP had the model 200M she said ... so no advanced data. Thanks so much and sorry for causing confusion...lol.

No need to apologize, Tracy. I've learned for this confusion - and I'm pretty sure others have as well.

This thread is about machine IDENTIFICATION.
If you are having a mechanical problem, you can search "machine stops" in the search window above;
or better yet, start a new thread. If you register, you can fill out your equipment,
so the listing is handy any time you post, without re-typing.
