Accuracy Of Respironics 7 And 30 Day Averages

How accurate are these readings?

The reason that I ask is because I might be TOO "smart", too aware, too curious but I noticed something curious or strange and that is that the nightly number of my 7 day average numerical display on the small screen of my respironics BiPap does not change past the third or fourth hour I sleep, no matter what might happen while I sleep.

For example, after a few hours of sleep, I press the left/right arrows and I read that (for example) my 7 day average AHI is 2.7........I go back to sleep for a few more hours, I check the display again and it still reads the same numbers as earlier.

I was wondering if anyone else noticed this about their machine displays.

This is a nightly thing and no, these numbers don't change (or update) after noon time so I was wondering if this LCD 7/30 day average screen display was accurate or if it were (as I have read) a mere sales gimmick.

Yes I know that some will answer me and advise me to buy a program which will give me an accurate and detailed nightly reading. I plan to do so when I buy a new computer, but this old computer may not be able to use detailed and new software so I won't risk buying the software yet.

The accuracy of any of the readings off the Respirionics "M" LCD display is VERY poor at best. And yes that is why you get so many recomendations to get the software. It is almost like Respirionics went out of their way to make the LCD not read correctly so that the patients could not get good data and would have to go to their Doc or DME to find out how they were doing. The only thing that reads correctly is the number of hours used.

I read my numbers at night. Pressure and AHI changes. I also check mask leak rate. I have been trying to eliminate leaks. I am happy with the feedback I'm getting from ResMed S8 Autoset II. When I get software installed, I'll check to see if the LCD screen has the same numbers as software.

I have not owned a Resmed machine but from what Slinky says the data off the screen on the Resmed's is pretty much correct. It is the Respirionics that can't add!
