Error code C-9?

Using my Respironics BiPap Pro w/ Encore Pro card in and about 2-3 minutes after turning it on to settle down to sleep, I got beeping and an error code that flashed C-9. I turned everything off and started all over again - no error code this time and all was fine through the rest of the night.

Then this morning, the software could not read the card. Any hints? I have a replacement card, but would like to know what happened so I can avoid it happening again.

a C code is a card error - for your machine I don't have the list - for the APAP tank -

C-9 SMARTCARD_WRITE_CONFIRM_FAIL - Card is corrupt and should be reprogrammed. Otherwise, replace card.

Card could certainly be corrupt. I know when I had a corrupt card the machine beeped as soon as the card was inserted. You could try litely rubbing a pencil eraser on the gold contacts to clean them 1st.

encore pro should have it in utilities - for viewer you have to use that program off the site jerry posted

I just wanted to add a note to this topic. Today I got error code C-1 . I haven't a clue what it meant, but the eraser trick worked. I used a nice soft white block eraser, and wiped the card before reinserting it. I previously used this trick successfully on error code C-9. Thanks everyone.

To help diagnose the issue, it should give you an error code of some type...

Is there a specific error code or does it simply say "Service Required"?

Also, does your machine have a smart card? If so, try removing the card and seeing if that solves the problem.
