Glad to see you posting, Engransan, and may you never have a need for these devices - but that's the kind of stuff its good to know about.

I wouldn't have know about the valve if it weren't for granmajoy's asking about it...

Sorry for not replying to a thread i started... Life got very busy all of a sudden, and I forgot I'd posted this until today, when I got back to cpaptalk.com and looked around! Engransan and Jerry, I hope you're both doing well and getting back to normal. That's scary stuff, but sounds like you're both on the right track. Thanks to everyone else who answered about how CPAP can indeed help the heart. I would love to see articles/papers showing this effect at some point, but since it's such widespread knowledge, it's not really important.
